Take 6 truly delivered an awesome performance. The harmonies they delivered were beautiful music to my ears. These guys totally rock!
I have been a fan since my college days in the 90s, and I am so glad that I got the chance to see and hear these true professionals do their thing! One word, outstanding!
I loved Take 6 at the height of their popularity and love them still. Their voices are amazing instruments!! I was psyched that this was billed as a Christmas Event but then, they didn't sing some of their best Christmas stuff. I took my 4-year-old son and he really enjoyed it as well. I would go again!!
This concert was really amazing! I enjoyed the beautiful harmony and musical creativity of the group. I also appreciated that they included a variety of songs such as Christmas songs, songs that influenced them, songs for the old and young. They even included humor in their performance. I definitely recommend this performance.
I thought that I was "bringing my wife" to this event since she loves acappella so much but to my surprise it was an AWESOME show that was not only full of great singing but very humorous as well! A MUST GO if you want to get into the Christmas spirit!
Take 6 has gotten better with age. They were superb !!!!
This concert was AMAZING! I have been listening to Take 6 for a very long time and this was the first time I saw them live. Absolutely awesome! I am a singer and after the concert, I felt inspired to be a better singer and musician! Hands down one of the best live shows Ive been to in all my 30 years! lol (and being from New Orleans, I've seen PLENTY!)
One of the most enjoyable, stimulating, and entertaining performances I have attended all year! Take 6 is back, better than ever!!!
I have had the pleasure of being a fan of Take 6 for over 20years and after seeing them again April 26th in Philly, I plan to be a fan for another 20 years. Six beautifully gifted men who have the showmanship to provide humor, creativity and a breath of musical styles ranging from gospel, jazz, and R&B. This men are true musicians and those who have a love and respect for their craft and strongly urged to not only go an see them in person but to support all of their endeavors.
As always- these two groups provided a sweet symphony for my ears.
Deltacappella just keeps on getting better and better. The variety of their performance really made the show. Take 6 is always on top of the a cappella entertainment. I expected a lot and was not disappointed.
Amazing performance. This was a suggested performance to watch by my high school chorus teacher. He was right.
While the opening act, Delta Capella was great and delightful, Take 6 demonstrated why they are one of the premiere acappella groups in the United States (and possibly the whole world). Their arrangements were fresh and their singing is tight. Their open sharing of their faith was welcomed by most (apparently not by the local CA critic) of the audience. I found this refreshing, but consistent with these guys who I've been of fan of them ever since they came on the music scene. Outstanding performance and best money I've spent on a concert since Whalum, Butler, and the late Wayman Tisdale were here at the Cannon Center.
It was my first time seeing Take 6 and Deltacapella in concert, and it was truly a blessing to me. I enjoyed the performances. I will definately attend next year and will spread the word about how great the concert was. The meet, greet and signing of autographs by Take 6 added a warm touch to the end of the night.
I got the tickets for the concert as a Christmas gift for my husband, and his comment was... "Thanks I really enjoyed that even more than I had hought I would." Take 6 never disappoints!
Great!! These Guys were great. My wife and I drove from Milwaukee to Indiana just to see these guys. I will do it all over again. Huge fans of the Group! My only regret is that it was too short...I wanted them to stay and sing all day..I am a singer too and perform but these guys turned me into a student of the craft all over again. They are Masters of the art. Beautiful Voices, Beautiful music. Best vocal group ever! period..sounded like it was a mastered CD, but it was live!! Best group ever...nuff said
An amazing group and an equally amazing show. Two things to make a Dad happy on Father's Day. My wife surprised me with two front row center tickets as we were driving "somewhere" for a Dad's Day treat. Once we left Illinois and entered Indiana I new something was up. A slight detour courtesy of an online mapping site caused us to miss the first 10-15 minutes, but we thoroughly enjoyed the remaining 75 minutes. The Venue was a great acoustical space and the sound system was tuned just right for a cappella music. Some people might not realize that live sound for a cappella is a very tricky task. Instead of working with instruments like drums, horns and guitars that are relatively simple in their sound range/quality/timbre, the human voice is vastly more complex. So to account for the broad vocal range of these six talented singers and give the bass man Alvin Chea enough oompf and the tweeters like Claude McKnight enough zing, it takes a great sound system and an engineer. The guys were so open and relaxed with the crowd and we loved it! They performed songs from their new album "The Standard" and brought back goodies from earlier releases like "So Much 2 Say." They even did an "improv" 3-on-3 percussion/trumpet/guitar as a break in one of their songs -- great response from the audience. Plus they did a medley of classic R&B songs including "End of the Road" by Boyz II Men and "What A Fool Believes" by Michael McDonald. Other favorites included "Just in Time", "Straighten Up and Fly Right", "The Windmills of Your Mind" and "Seven Steps to Heaven" from the newest release. The latter song was a collaboration with greats such as Al Jarreau and Jon Hendricks and Mark Kibble *totally* had the crowd thinking Mr. Jarreau would be joining them on stage (I was the only one who didn't turn my head to stage left, I *promise*! ha ha). Throwback songs for Take 6 fans included "I've Got It" from their 1994 release "Join The Band" and "So Much 2 Say" from the release of the same name. "Come On" from "Feels Good" was also sung. The thing about Take 6 is they sound just as great live as they do in a studio and that speaks to their amazing voices and performing abilities. Plus they are very humble, very wise, good Christian family men and those characteristics come through in their music and their live performance.
This concert was wonderful! I took my husband for Father's Day and also my Mother-in-Law. It is a must see! These boys can sing anything!! I would definitely see them again and be in the front row!!
