About

SWV (Sisters With Voices) are a multi platinum-selling R&B group from New York City. The trio — Cheryl “Coco” Gamble, Tamara “Taj” George and Leanne “Lelee” Lyons — originally began as a gospel group before becoming a defining force in ‘90s R&B. SWV released their debut album, It’s About Time, in 1992. The LP contained popular singles like “Weak” and “Right Here (Human Nature Remix),” both of which reigned atop Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and respectively hit No. 1 and No. 2 on the Hot 100. The group released three more studio sets — New Beginning (1996), Release Some Tension (1997) and A Very Special Christmas (1997) — and accrued a total of nine Top 10 hits on the R&B chart before going on hiatus in 1998. After sporadically reuniting throughout the 2000s, SWV signed a new record deal in 2011 and released their fifth album, I Missed Us, in 2012. Since then, the trio have released their 2016 LP Still and dabbled in reality TV, most recently in the 2023 Bravo series SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B. In 2024, both groups will co-headline The Queens of R&B Tour with special guests Mýa, Total and 702.

    Great concert until it rained

by PS on 8/25/19Dell Music Center - Philadelphia

The concert was great! However for an event that is rain or shine we were very disappointment that they called the concert during the headline act- SWV. It had begun raining and you could tell swv was rushing through a few of there songs until finally the event staff told them to stop. We were very disappointed by this- there should be an alternative considering that was the main act we paid to see.

    Keep the show moving

by BigFanTwo on 10/19/18Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

I was truly annoyed by the long delay for K. Michelle's performance but all else was great.

    Transitions took too much time

by Tomcat1994 on 10/16/18Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

Avant and K Michelle were the standouts and the best performances hands down! Other than that it was not worth the price! SWV was rather lazy and they were the face of this concert !! Keke kept saying she had 9 kids which I don’t get what has to do with her performing !! The concert took too long to start and they kept taking breaks playing different songs which tired the audience ! Everyone was ready to go by the time SWV got there and so was SWV. The stage crew took to much time moving band and mics! The sound wasn’t right half the time ! Avant was rushed off the stage for some reason ! The concert started at 9 and SWV didn’t come out to 11:30 I think! The restrooms in civic center are molded which is disgusting! Overpriced and not the best except for K Michelle tbh! Not a big turnout either which was shocking

The concert was great and so fun. I loved the performances, they were so awesome. The dj playing music before the concert kept me entertained and that was good.

It started 1 and 1/2 hours late sound was bad with SWV and keke didn't really sing her songs k Michelle was great as always. I really feel like I should get some money back. I paid $77 for my seats and because tickets didn't sell well they moved the $25 seats down to our area to fill in the seats. Each act did about 5 songs not much we had more DJ time than anything. If I had to do over I would not have wasted my money.

    Enjoyed some throwbacks

by JSmith12 on 10/16/18Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

This was the most unorganized show I have ever been to in my life. It started extremely late and the artists were rushed off stage. Set changes took forever and by the end of the night it was cold and boring. I enjoyed When the artist were actually onstage, which wasn’t very long. The locals took most of the night. Terrible..

    Not enough of SWV

by Anonymous on 10/16/18Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

The show had a load of great vocal talent. Keke Wyatt and Avant was amazing. K Michelle was ok but we heard more from her than we did SWV. It was almost like a comeback debut for K Michelle. The concert started late and consisted mostly of a DJ and rappers/singers who seemed to be stalling for some reason. SWV didn't come out until after 11:30 and only sang for 15-20min and it was a medly of their greatest hits. It seemed that they were just as confused as the audience. They said they had been sitting back stage for three hours waiting to sing. I only paid $55 a piece for tickets and got great seats. My daughter enjoyed herself and that was my whole reason for going so I don't feel like I was scammed other than the fact that we saw very little of the group we actually paid to see. I don't know that I would travel 3 hrs away to watch another concert there.

SoulFest The Good and The Bad

by ChelB1219 on 10/16/18Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

So I loved the each and every performer... (Keke Wyatt, Avant, K.Michelle and SWV) they were great. I did not care for the 4 performers that were locals that we knew nothing about. the main problem came into play when I bought a VIP Ticket for me and my sister we had to stand inline for almost a hour while people with standard tickets were let inside to their seats. Once they let us in we did not get the items we were suppose to get allow with VIP till a hour after the fact. Me and my sis was toll that we would get a chance to go backstage and take pictures with the performers and that did not happen. in the middle of the show the chose to allow people from other sections to come in VIP for FREE which I felt was not right since I paid Full price for my tickets. Overall the concert was not great with them starting at least 2 hours be hide time. I would like at least half of my money back for both tickets based the things I listed above.

    Finding Ashley Stewart

by vafinest on 9/18/18Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

This was the 2nd annual event for this and this year was even better than last year. I REALLY enjoyed the musical guest especially MC LYTE! DJ Kid Capri was also awesome. Loni did an excellent job as host. I can’t wait for next years event because I’ll definitely be there (God willing). The Kings Theater is the best thing to happen to Brooklyn since I moved here in 1999. Thanks for another great night!

Outstanding. I felt like I got my money's worth. I appreciated the free parking. The show flowed and moved in a timely manner. From the MC, the videos, the performing acts and the gift bags... I was impressed and truly enjoyed myself. KUDOS.
