    Absolutely incredible

by Nes on 4/20/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

It was incredible!! I loved how the orchestra and chorus was the main stage. Really made you focus on the music. No crazy, intricate set. The actors were so amazing that you could visualize everything with just them and very few props. And Mrs. Lovett was just PERFECT, even when she "messed up".

The worst event I have ever attended at Chrysler Hall!

by etcretired on 4/16/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

Even though it was billed as "An Orchestra Concert"I expected there to be some acting. There was virtually no acting. It was more like an opera. My wife and I couldn't take any more and left after the first 25 minutes.

Nice venue and performance, but vocals indiscernible.

by Steve on 4/16/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

It's a nice venue, comfortable seating. We were center orchestra Row G, so had nice vantage point. The music was beautiful and the singers exceptional, however the lyrics were difficult to discern. We were told that the Chrysler was developed for symphony acoustics and not for song. I viewed it like an opera. I would think that closed captioning technology could be employed in some way to overcome the limitations.

    Amazing Show

by David on 4/16/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

What an amazing performance. This was much more than just singers standing in front of mics. The voices and movements were amazing. The symphony was world class as always, and the chorus really blew the roof off Chrysler Hall. The principle actors were outstanding. You could tell they were enjoying themselves, especially with Mrs. Lovitt singing about her privates. Ha! My only criticism was the view of Sweeny Todd's shop. It was raised up on a platform, and from where we were sitting on the right side of the dress circle, we could not see!! The bottom of the box seats blocked the view. We couldn't see when Todd slit his victims' throats. We could not see when Todd and the Judge performed Pretty Women. That part was very disappointing. If I had known this, I would have purchased different seats.
