Opening with "100,000 Fireflies" was a nice touch, as it's a song that they themselves did not write, and is indicative of their helping hand approach to bands that they appreciate. They tended to play their newer, as well as their slower, songs earlier in the set, whipping up the audience into mass, frenzied pogoing towards the end. The fourth time that I've seen them at the Magic Stick, and the seventh overall, it was easily the best performance by them that I witnessed. The near-decade long absence didn't diminish their performance capabilities one iota, and may have even helped to recharge their batteries. Their performance of "Detroit Has A Skyline Too" was, to use a cliche, incindiary. They did a good cross-section of their vast repertoire, although they tended to play the singles, and I wish that they'd done at least one more song from Majesty Shredding, especially during the encore. Performing a Negative Approach song to open the encore was an nice touch and, although I'm still wondering what connection the Revolting Cocks have to Detroit (as part of a stated "Detroit tribute"), "God-Damned Son Of A Bitch" went over very well with the rioting audience. I danced until I was exhausted and sweaty, and then I danced some more. My voice was horse from shouting-along. It seemed like I'd just wiutnessed something very special, which, of course, I had.
