    Super Geek League

by Etzki on 8/8/17HALLUCINATION ENGINE - New York Citi

Superb and unusual concert event! Taking into account the fact that this people had only few hours to set up on the stage, as their equipment arrived extremely late. I have to give them enormous credit for pulling this off so nicely. This is great hard rock music connected with amazing visually speaking, artistic, gymnastic acrobatic performance. No other rock band does it that way. Definitely one of a kind, nothing else to compare with. Listening to their recordings from Studio, they represent the highest quality of world-class Hard Rock. They can easily stand up together with Scandinavian band Pain of Salvation. They could play along side of the Dream Theater. Amplifying properly live event is extreme Challenge for the richest musicians in the world. This people are incorporating very interesting sounds into the Progressive Hard Rock music. You can't hear the trumpet or xylophone in Hard Rock on the average day. The use of this unusual for for this style instruments creates amazing climate, and will suck you right into the action of this music. There are literally moments that are grabbing you by your mind and pulling you into the world of music. Some people need good herb to get into that kind of place , other ones are able to take advantage of great, amusing sounds! Everyone on the stage is trying to engage you. I wish that the sound of the live event of New York was as crisp perfect as in the studio. This will knock my socks off literally as I can truly appreciate good music.( I am sure they can pull this off having appropriate time for sound preparation before the concert.) This could be converted to Big Broadway / Las Vegas event with someone Broadway kind of money. They have amazing vocal leader , and she is very much out of the box, like everybody else in this band circus combination. Vocal/ musical Arrangements are outstanding. Surfing over the audience on the surfboard that is another thing! The little gadgets that some performers are equipped with is another thing! You just have to see that. One more thing, there is a story behind all of it in addition to great music. If you are reading this please do your self big favor and don't miss out concert of this band if they will come into your neighborhood. You won't regret!

    2 Hours of Amazingness!

by MorningStar626 on 6/15/17Gramercy Theatre - New York

See their show! You will not be disappointed!! From beginning to end and everything in between. The music was incredible, the performances were off the chain and my friend and I had to hold each other as a human totem was climbing higher, the make up was gorgeous, the story of the show was so much fun, and I still have confetti in my bag!! If I could travel with them I would. I had so much fun and I honestly can't wait until they're back on the East coast again. Also, because my friend I was with is friends with some of them, I got to meet and hang with them afterwards and they are really super cool, very kind people. Extremely talented bunch. Well done!!

The Real Greatest Show On Earth! Super Geek League

by Karl11225 on 6/10/17Gramercy Theatre - New York City

Words can't even describe what the hell i saw on May 31st. I had no clue what was going to happen and I'm actually glad i didn't. It's like when you avoid watching all the trailers to a movie you really want to see, and then you see the movie and everything is so explosive and fresh. Every song they played i thought was the last because every song felt like the grand finale, but it just kept going and growing like the Incredible Hulk. There were literally no lows throughout the whole performance and every member of the band, and cast gave 1000% every second. I was a perfect well oiled (hallucination) Engine!!!!!!

Most Fun Show I've Been To EVER!!

by KingsCountyComics on 6/9/17Gramercy Theatre - New York

Firstly the music is awesome, horns with a bit of harder metal edge and lots of fun & catchy hooks all over the place! That alone makes it worth checking out, but then the stage show is the real draw, anything & everything you could ever imagine from Cyborg Pandas to Circus Strongmen to Literal Crowd Surfing on a Surfboard to Monsters & Mayhem aplenty! Pillow fights & Wicked Witch Stilt Pole Dancing & VR Experiences, this show has it all! Mind blowing!

by MisterXnyc on 6/9/17Gramercy Theater - New York

Such a crazy experience! This is show is mind opening! Some many cool ideas of interaction with the public, funky circus acts, can't wait to see them back in NYC, we're missing shows like this here. Not mainstream in a way that it will take you out of your comfort zone. Definitely something to experience.

    Super Geek League was extraordinary!!

by AStringentReviewer on 6/9/17Gramercy - New York City

SGL presents Hallucination Engine was incredible! My girlfriend and I went in with no expectations and were totally blown away! The 12 piece band was super tight ; each song was unique and portrayed the feeling of the moment perfectly. These artists known how to put on a hell of a show. The music ranged from Mr. Bungle-esque funhouse to Voodoo-Glow Skulls type ska, to full on metal with prog elements and FANTASTIC singers; and of course some twisted circus music! Really spot on. While the band is performing these insanely good and fun songs, there is a rock-opera being performed simultaneously with choreographed dancing, acrobatics, aerials, and crowd interaction. Not only are these performers talented but their outfits were amazingly detailed, and the show itself was extremely well put together down to the last detail. One such detail was the electronic light up headbands the band members wore which had visualizations synced real time to the music. The choreography of the performance was top notch as well. The acrobatics were daring and a pleasure to watch. On top of the great performances they also had LIVE VR headsets that you could watch the show FROM THE STAGE while it was happening! This show is not to be missed. If you are a fan of live music and having a fun time I highly recommend you see SGL as soon as possible.

    Just simply outstanding

by AnthonyL93 on 6/9/17Gramercy Theatre - New York City

I walked into this without knowing what to expect. I brought friends of mine whose taste for the unique is not quite what mine is so I was a bit concerned. I had no reason to. I don't even know where to begin there was so much going on. For starters, everyone involved were incredibly talented. The musicians, dancers, performers, everyone. I cannot point to one weak link talent-wise. The costumes were colorful, sexy and somehow all made sense. It was not different for the sake of being different. The acrobats and other performers were spot on. There were quite a few "wow's" that went through the crowd. The performers would often interact with and come into the crowd. I can go on but you are getting my drift. The thing I loved the most was the energy produced. The band was outstanding and as they played you could not help but clap and jump along with them. I cannot wait to see these guys again.

Loud, Messy, Bizarre but not in the good way

by WeaponofMassInstruction on 6/3/17Gramercy Theatre - New York

I wanted to love this. I really did. Burlesque, Circus, live music, costumed monsters... it had the makings of shows I enjoyed played by GWAR or Primus; however, unlike those shows, the music proved more cacophonous than memorable. The players had talent, but the songs clashed together like a Mr. Bungle experimental rehearsal, not the finished product. The costumes proved fantastic and eye catching, and the circus stunts intrigued, but the stunts were nothing I haven't seen before done with less pageantry (or sometimes more), many times for free at Union Square. Ha. My wife and I walked out after about an hour, having experienced enough, and her comment to me solidified my thoughts on the experience: "It's like they went to a park and grabbed all the loons and each one said, 'I can do this' and another said 'I can do this' and they brought them all on stage." I think with polishing and perhaps better vocalists (the young African American girl with blue braids actually was painful to listen to!!!!) and a little more accessible music, the show would have wowed. Again, I really wanted to love it. I did, however, love ONE thing about it: Frederick, the young man (I think it was a young man) in the black nylon suit who provided comic relief prior to the show and mingled with the audience introducing silliness to the proceedings. HE earned the stars for this show.
