This was one of the best Summerland concerts I've been to. I love how Jay Popoff went out with the crowd during Lit performing. It was also great to see Sugar Ray close the show. Mark McGrath is so entertaining!
Nothing like seeing my favorite bands from the 90's on stage again performing nothing but their hits! It's a blast every year!
All the bands were amazing, the sound was good, the venue was great, it's a cozy place. definitely I would repeat going to a concert there.
We were looking forward to an awesome show. When our awesome seats got changed to general admission upon our arrival, the disappointment pretty much overshadowed the entire evening. We went to the Summerland concert a couple of years ago at the casino in Detroit and loved it! This time Everclear was an opener rather than the headliner which was our primary reason for buying tickets. Everclear was amazing as usual, would have been a much better experience if we were 2nd row center stage like we planned because those were the tickets we bought! It also would have been nice to hear them play more songs. Sugar Ray ended up being the headliner and puts on a good show. It was enjoyable. We are not fans of the 1st 2 bands Sponge and Lit, so really didn't recognize much of their music....
It was great show but I paid for front row seats and bought early and when we got there they changed to general admission. This was disappointing but overall show was great! Just wish I got some of money back since paid for front row.
Attended this show to see Everclear and Sugar Ray. I really like a lot of Everclear songs, but they all sounded terrible live. Slowed way down, poor sound mix, etc. Art just seemed tired/bored the entire time he was on stage. It was difficult to hear him most of the time. The worst parts was that during "Santa Monica," the lead singer of Sponge came up and sang most of the song. Unbelievable and so disappointing. If you can no longer sing your biggest hit song, it's probably time to call it quits, unfortunately. Sugar Ray was super energetic and fun. Really enjoyed their performance.
This was a great show! The crowd was on the small side, so it was great to see every band still bring ALL their energy & performance quality! The only improvement I'd make would be to Everclear's sound tech, who didn't seem to notice that Art's mic level was too quiet.
Over all the experience was something I would definitely not do again. The venue changed it tickets to general Admission after we had paid the extra for floor seats. The one band that my friends and I were looking forward to seeing Everclear was horrible!!! He forgot the lyrics to his own songs and didn't sing for the most part and forgot how to play his guitar. The rest of the bands were good but over all the tickets issue and Everclear experience ruined it for us.
I was really looking forward to seeing all the bands that were part of the show. Sponge and Lit were the best of the night. While the sound system isn't great at this venue they still performed well enough to not notice. Everclear was terrible. I loved them growing up and was most excited to see them. Art barely sang and the sound was just terrible. People around us left during their set. We decided to stick around for Sugar Ray but left after two songs. They sounded just terrible. Mark's voice sounded like a 12 year old boy and again the acoustics are just really bad there. We couldn't take it and left and by the steady stream of people walking out to their cars at the same time we weren't the only ones who felt this way!
Summerland bands never fail to amaze me! Wings Even Center did a great Job as well.
The main reason I went to this show was to see Sponge and Everclear. Sponge did what they always do...give 110% and sound great and engage the crowd. It was disappointing that they were limited to about 5 songs but I get that as there were three other bands to follow. The biggest let down was Everclear. The singer would just stop singing half way through a line (not a chorus) Not sure if he was drunk or what but the sound was terrible. Ive read several reviews stating the same thing. Might be time to hang it up. Im being critical because this was not a cheap show.
I really enjoyed getting to see 2 my favorite bands from the 90's Everclear and Sugar Ray. Also Lit was pretty good too especially their performance of one of my favorite songs My Own Worst Enemy. This concert was pretty laid back and wasn't too packed so it was easily enjoyable. Also I got to shake the leader singer of Everclear hand . Ya'll totally rocked and just keep on rocking.
Was so excited to see these bands but a terrible sound guy and major sound issues ruined this concert. Nothing was mixed right and u could barely hear the singers. Some guitars were way to in front and there were major delays
Sponge really started the event with a kick. Great sound and fan interactions. Going in, I was not a fan of Lit, but the whole band brought it with the highest energy performance of the night. Everclear's set-list was a powerhouse. Still rock in'. Sugar Ray had the right energy as well. They had fun up there and the fans appreciated it. Great venue for this type of show. I would like to see acts like Gin Blossums, Third Eye Blind, Spin Doctors, and other 90s ilk added.
Sponge, Lit, Everlast and Sugar Ray would've been perfect if they fired their sound engineer. So pissed that almost every moment was clouded by missing guitars, mics off, mix wrong....we finally left after 3 Suar Ray songs since Mark couldn't get his earpiece to work and couldn't hear himself off key. All 4 bands were energetic, loved being there and put in a great attempt, but were sabotaged by their own sound person.
So, the show started a half hour earlier than was advertised which we were luckily there to catch. Sponge opened the show and they were pretty good, played a few of their hits. Next up was Lit and they were by far the best of the night. Solid overall and played a lot of their hits along with some newer stuff. Next came Everclear and it was apparent that Art, the lead singer, was drunk or something. He was slurring his words and couldn't annunciate half the lyrics to their songs. They were really disappointing. At this point we were pissed that they weren't the headliners and Sugar Ray had taken the headlining spot so we decided to take off early. Figured we weren't missing much with Sugar Ray playing and I really didn't want to look at Mark McGrath's plastic face. I hate to be sour about the whole thing but I was really excited to see some of my favorite bands from the 90s play. Overall it was a big letdown.
I wasn't a big Sugar Ray fan until seeing them at Hard Rock on Monday nite. I took my son so he could see one of his favorite bands, Everclear. Sugar Ray played all their hits as well as a rousing version of EMF's Unbelievable and a mini-tribute to one of my all time favorite rockers, The Ramones! Everclear's performance was fun although Art's voice is showing wear for the mileage. Lit put on a very high-energy rocking set and Sponge was a decent opening act. All in all, a very memorable night and well worth the price of admission. I highly recommend seeing the 2016 Summerland Tour!
All of the bands were amazing but Sugar Ray was so much more fun than I expected.
Enjoyed it great show, everclear was by far best band.
