Sum 41 in Concert
Two-time Juno Award winners Sum 41 rode the crest of the nu-metal wave in the early 2000s with a catchy blend of punk, rap and metal elements woven into their music. They were able to pinpoint some of the most infectious characteristics of popular genres and meld them into a hybrid that won them throngs of fans who were eager for more. Tickets to their concerts traditionally sell out fast, as fans don't want to miss the chance to jump up with the band and request songs through the extra microphone that seems to just float around the stage. The band orchestrates this circus-like scenario night after night on tour and even indulges in a cover or two by Judas Priest or Iron Maiden —complete with drum solos. Incidentally, the band was lucky enough to borrow drummer Tommy Lee from Motley Crue for a stretch between 2001 and 2003. Their August 2011 release Sum 41 Live at the House of Blues boasts plenty of live concert antics and features the hit songs "Underclass Hero," "Motivation" and "Fat Lip."
The band hails from Ajax, Ontario, Canada and is fronted by lead singer, rhythm guitarist and primary songwriter Deryck Whibley. They began in 1996 as a NOFX cover band called Kaspir but eventually changed their name for a high-profile show opening for Supernova. They signed an international record deal with Island Records in 1999, which resulted in their 2001 debut release All Killer, No Filler. They embarked on a relentless journey of touring and songwriting that led to the 2002 release of Does This Look Infected?, 2004's Chuck, 2007's Underclass Hero and the 2011 release Screaming Bloody Murder, with subsequent tours. Sum 41 continues this tradition with a string of Canadian tour dates scheduled for the spring of 2014.
Sum 41 is touring on the Rockstar Energy Drink DISRUPT Festival in 2019. The touring festival features unique lineups in each city, including The Used, Thrice, Circa Survive, Sum 41, The Story So Far, Atreyu, Sleeping With Sirens, Andy Black, and more.

Damn man it was such a sick concert great opening band and sum41 was amazing
Been a Sum41 fan ever since I saw them at Metro 7-ish years ago. They didn't disappoint at all. Played all of "Does This Look Infected" and a bunch of other classics. The opening act, I am Dynamite, also played very energetically and pumped up the crowd.
Awesome night, was very suprised with the first band LEAVE IT TO US they were really good, lots of energy, catchy lyrics, cool drummer. IamDyanmite was good as well, especially for 2 guys. SUM41 was in rare form, last night of the tour before their xmas break. They kicked it all night long!
the sum 41 concert was great. great performance and good mosh pit and good crowd only think i didnt like was having to wait like 3 hours for sum 41 to come on the first band Happy Kid 8 was boring and not good the second band i liked and where fun because we started moshing and was more exciting the third band iamdynamite was not good and the guy sounded like shit by the time sum 41 came out i was pretty tired my and my feet were starting to hurt but i had a good time crowd surfing and moshing.
when sum 41 came out and deryck spit and started playing the hell song the whole crowd went insane and i moshed. there wasnt a dull moment and we moshed and jumped the whole concert. they played for a good hour and a half and it was the best time of my life. nothing could compare to it. if you ever have a chance to see sum live its something you shouldnt pass up. i would pay double what i payed to see them again they were that good.
One of the best shows I've ever been to in my life.
SUM 41 was awesome. But waiting through the first two bands to get to them was brutal. The first two were more of the emo rock type. Sum 41 is hyped fast paced jump up and down music. Lot's of PBR's till the main band.
Amazing energy, amazing band, amazing performance. Definately see this band live if you have the opportunity.
location was amazing, pre-band iamdynamite was awesome and sum41 did that what they have to do - rock the crowd ;)
This was my first concert actually but man was it great. Loved the music, loved the venue and I loved Deryk. Fantastic show.
We waited 3 1/2 hours for Sum 41 with no explanation. The band could have at least acknowledged our long wait by saying "you guys have been so patient, we really appreciate your support and we're going to give you a great night in return. " The band did a good mix of their music, but the sound system had a lot of distortion throughout the night. I did not appreciate being called a mother-f***er all night, and do not like hearing women called c**ts and holes either. I'm not fond of cheering self-proclaimed alcoholics, especially when they're drunk. All of these problems contributed to a disappointing night.
Just rocked the venue. Just as good as expected ::::))))
this band is AMAZING...honestly...I always liked sum 41 but I figured their stage show would be mediocre and I wasn't too familiar with a lot of their other songs, but it doesn't matter...i've never seen a band ROCK and play as well as they did. they were just so good...on another level...they played perfectly...they sounded AMAZING...the lead singer is hilarious and funny and he's just so cool. the entire band is just so good...really, the show and being there while they were playing was a great experience... their music just sounded so good and when they played fat lip wow...the only problem was the idiots at the house of blues...people in orlando don't seem to know how to handle a concert...we were standing towards the back and everyone just PUSHED everyone else back because of the mosh pit and stayed there--really inconsiderate people who don't know basic etiquette. it really ruined the show because it was so packed some of us couldn't move and we were trapped in some areas...i didnt get to enjoy the show the way I would have if it wasnt for those ignorant people however the band was so amazing and the moment they play again anywhere nearby im going to the show so i can actually have a good time at it....however this is one show you don't want to miss!
Really loved the show. The small ritz ybor made it even better. I relly hope they keep writting songs for many years to come and keep this energy on stage!
Sum 41 did an awesome job! Loved all the songs they played and they kept the audience going. I would definitely see them again!
AWESOME! Best show ever! Had the time of my life!!
Up close and personal at the Norva, the band played everything from old school "In too Deep" to cuts from almost every other album. Lead singer Deryck, may act like a rock wildman, but never missed a verse or solo. Great entertainment!!
Stage performance=amazing sound=almost exactly like studio overall, one of the best shows I've ever seen
Drove a few hours to see this show. So glad we did! The concert ranged from all of their albums. And the band was hilarious with their interaction with the crowd. Fun time! Not disappointed!
Although I didn't care for the bands that opened for them when they came out to play I got an adrenaline rush that lasted through the whole show. They were amazing live and Im glad that I decided to buy those tickets!
