First time events are always a toss up. The site team had the area very well organized, easy in and out, flowed very smoothly. But, like any first time event the line-up is difficult to pull off to attract a large enough crowd to break-even or profit. I don't believe the overall attendance provided this. ( Again, first time event with no track record.) I must say, had the crowds appeared, the profits alone from the overly expensive food and beverage would have covered all concerned. Second day we curtailed our spending dramatically. First comment, why would you schedule a rap group, Jung Nation, to open a show? Then in the middle of a song, tell them they needed to stop. Schedule or not, don't cut a band off in the middle of a song. Unfortunately the 100 or so at this opening group did not truly get to experience what Jung Nation had to offer. They should have been in the evening and had more time. Rap for brunch does not work. Next, work on getting the electronica/DJ improved. The closing on Sunday, as exciting and bold as it appeared initially turned into a repetitive un-inventive drone. Kept hearing the same song repeated. This was a great way to have ended the show but... My son who is fully into this genre was not impressed, felt it fell short of what could have been experienced. Big Gigantic would have been a far better choice, based on their performance. Given the performance, Twenty One Pilots should have been a closer. Awesome performance! When looking at the two day cards and then experiencing the performances, the second day had the better line-up, but again, nothing earth shattering. If there is a next year, I will be hard pressed to pay $140 plus food/beverage $200 to attend if the line up isn't significantly improved. This is the reason for giving an overall rating of a 3. You have a great opportunity to turn this into a fantastic, high demand, profitable event. Take the organizational success of the events mechanics and get the line-up to match.
