About

Sublime With Rome are heading back to Australia after a sold out 2012 tour - this time also stopping off in Auckland to treat their NZ fan-base!

Featuring founding members of Sublime along with new frontman, singer/guitarist Rome – Sublime with Rome will reaffirm their affinity with Aussie fans, and reintroduce themselves and Sublime’s classic hits to a New Zealand audience in March 2017.

Joining them will for the Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne & Sydney dates will be Melbourne-based quintet Jakubi. There’s always a party happening somewhere, and these guys provide the perfect soundtrack. The band has garnered a huge following since its inception in 2013, with their swinging, slick, and sizzling sonic buffet of pop, R&B, hip-hop, rock, and soul proving to be a winner with their ever-growing fan-base. Having collaborated with everybody from GRAMMY® Award winning producer Eric Hudson [Kanye West, John Legend, Dr. Dre] and Harmony Samuels [Ne-Yo, Chris Brown] to Royal-Z [Fifth Harmony] and FRESHM3N III [Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears] - these guys know what’s up!

One of the most notable and successful ska-punk bands of all time, Sublime has sold over 17 million albums worldwide with songs like What I Got, Doin’ Time and Date Rape all in constant radio rotation across the globe. To this day, the group’s multi-platinum landmark debut album ‘40oz. to Freedom’, lo-fi follow up ‘Robbin’ the Hood’, and multi-platinum self-titled major label debut (a virtual greatest hits set in itself) are all widely regarded as music collection staples.

Formed in Long Beach in 1988, Sublime’s final performance was in the spring of 1996 after the death of original singer Bradley Nowell. In 2008 Rome, a 20-year-old northern California native, was introduced to Gaugh and Wilson. In 2011, a handful of jam sessions led to an impromptu show at a small club in Nevada flooring a packed-house crowd. The trio later performed a one-off at the Smokeout Festival and was a surprise special guest at the infamous KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show, before officially dubbing themselves Sublime with Rome.

In 2015, Sublime with Rome resurfaced with ‘Sirens’, the effervescent follow up to the band’s 2011 debut ‘Yours Truly’.  "We had more time, we know each other better now, and we're even better musicians," said Rome Ramirez last year, who was just 20-years-old when he embarked on this journey. Now 28, the singer, guitarist, and songwriter is truly flourishing.

With bassist and co-founder Eric Wilson anchoring the group, Sublime With Rome are armed with a sound that makes a real statement... their statement.

And while Ramirez pays the utmost respect to the original Sublime entity, since, as he admitted in the past, they were the first band that made him want to make, as opposed to just listen to, music, he knows Sublime With Rome are worthy of fans’ undivided attention. “I want fans to say, 'I went to see Sublime With Rome and the new album is sick as fuck.' We can do that by continuing to make better and better records," he said.

“Sublime has so many fans and attracts new fans every year who were never able to see Sublime perform live after Bradley passed away,” said Troy Nowell-Holmes, Bradley Nowell’s widow. “One of the inspirations for forming ‘Sublime with Rome’ was to bring Brad’s spirit in his music back to the fans and to give the new fans a glimpse of what it was like to see Sublime live.”

Sublime with Rome was, hands down, the greatest show I have ever been to. The opening band, The Dirty Heads, were unforgettable & Sublime was ahhhhhhhhmazing. I would attend this show a billion more times!

    Pretty good

by newzealander on 10/25/10Winston-Salem Entertainment Sports Complex - Winston-Salem

They played ALL their hits plus some of the older songs which was great. The sounds wasn't perfect and I'm not sure about Rome. He didn't seem to fit with the others but did sounds similar to Brad - so I'm assuming that is why he is in the band. The lyrics weren't always clear unfortunately. Overall, a great night out if you are a Sublime fan.

Sublime with Rome blew us all away!!!!!!

by klbROCKS on 10/24/10Winston-Salem Entertainment Sports Complex - Winston-Salem

Yeah, baby!!!!!!!!!! This show was so much more than we had anticipated!!!!! Got the tickets because we're such devout Sublime/Bradley Nowell fans. We were definitely alittle skeptic about how it would all go down with this new Rome guy taking Brad's place. But, WOW!!!!! He rocked the place the entire show!!! Both his vocals and his playing were definitely what you'd hope for from a guy stepping into such GREAT, BIG shoes for a night. You could sum the whole experience up as a very fitting and worthy memorium to one of rock's greatest: Bradley Nowell!!!!!!!

    Absolutely Awesome Show!

by MusicInTheSoul on 10/24/10Winston-Salem Entertainment Sports Complex - Winston-Salem

The show was amazing. I'd do it again for sure. Well worth the money. The Ditry Heads were awesome too! We got there early and they let us have access to the floor. We ended up front row! Can't get any better than that.

swr picking up where they left off.....

by dragonspiritworld on 10/24/10Winston-Salem Entertainment Sports Complex - Winston-Salem

Sublime with Rome and the dirty heads both did an Incredible job. Swr played all the old jams as well as rocked some new ones. I wanna personally thank sublime for being the true voice of a generation and holding a mirror up to ugly America saying this is you, this is how you are... and at the same time celebrating it. The concert was the perfect way to ring in my thirtieth birthday. Only way it could have been better is if I could have met them. Rome, you rock... dirty headz following suit....
