Sublime with Rome evolved from a multi-generational passion project honoring one of the most quintessential catalogs of the ’90s to a full-fledged band able to stand on their own. Over 10 years after the death of Sublime frontman Bradley Nowell, the Long Beach, California band’s surviving members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh connected with vocalist and guitarist Rome Ramirez and debuted as Sublime with Rome in 2009. The original trio were an instant marquee touring act, headlining their first tour in 2010 before releasing their debut album Yours Truly (2011), which debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart. Gaugh stepped down later that year, but Sublime with Rome has carried on to release two more albums, 2015’s Sirens and 2019’s Blessings, along with co-headlining tours featuring The Offspring and Cypress Hill. They’ve also collaborated with Wiz Khalifa, The Dirty Heads and Slightly Stoopid.

It really was an excellent show. Two great bands that rocked!
Sublime with Rome was AMAZING! We will definitely see them perform again if they ever come back to town. Wanted to see Eric's new bass guitar~ it's painted in a flaked out green named after the band as "Sublime Green", but it was a no show :(
Even if the show wasn't going to be good, the venue is amazing! Jannus Landing has alway's delivered. We were afraid that Sublime lost their zest, but they were definitely better than expected. You can tell they are a band that's just about their music, no frills. Opening band? Not so much.
Rome did one hell of a job in place of the late great Brad Nowell. The vibe was great and just about every hit was performed. If you missed this show you missed one great performance by one of the legendary reggae, punk, ska bands that featured the original members of Sublime, but having Rome as a lead singer was a great choice as he couldnt be any better.
I didn't know what to think about the new singer, but he rocked it. They played all of the old school jams that we love. I had no voice the next day. The venue rocked as well! If you are on the fence about seeing them, don't be. Pay the money, its worth it!
I enjoyed the time I was there for. Didnt quite watch the whole show due cicrcmtances with t he venue which maybe a factor on my review of the show. Either way I did have a good time, not quite sure though if it was worth paying 40 bucks though.
BEST SHOW I HAVE EVER BEN TOO!! I WILL GO AGAIN...
I loved the concert. I will definitely see them again.
My group and I got there like an hour before the doors opened and were able to be right in front of the stage the whole night! When Lionize came onto the stage, they took it by storm! The lead singer, Nate, sings right from the soul! I already had seen them live before and knew a lot of their songs, but they surprised me with their new stuff and that was so awesome of them!! They were the perfect opener for Sublime, and my friends and I honestly didn't want them to leave! We were asking if it was okay if an opening band played an encore!?! Sublime came on, and seeing how LIONIZE took charge of the stage, they knew they had to bring it....and they DID! The most amazing thing to see is when you know that the members are having a great time performing their music and that they're doing it for the crowd. They were so pumped the whole time! After the show, my group and I went to Lionize's merch table and got all the member's signatures on our tickets!! The singer Nate talked to all of us for a good ten minutes and even recognized my sister and I from a previous show!! All in all, one of the best experiences I've had, and I cannot wait til Lionize comes back!
Rome has such an awesome voice but I was straining to hear it over the booming bass. We were standing slightly behind the elevated sound board and everyone around us was complaining that they couldn't identify what song was being sung. The opening band wasn't drowned out by bass so the venue was not the problem.
If you are a long time fan of Sublime and want to continue to hear their music then i would go see this show. Rome is not some replacement guy, he had a lot of respect even saying R.I.P. to Brad during an encore and definitely keeping the Sublime feeling going. They only played a couple of their new songs but mostly just showed that they still have it. We went two nights in a row and both shows were different and just as great.
I have been a huge fan of Sublime since 1995-96. Being from So.California and especially living about 15 minutes away where the guys are from definitely made it easier to have their fantastic music accessible. They were the IT band and when people thought of SoCal music, Sublime was always on the top of that list. I never got to see Sublime before Bradley died, mainly because my mom thought I was too young and didn't want me venturing out to concerts when I was in the 7th grade. I thought I would never get to hear their punk/ska/reggae beats live and that made me sad. When Sublime with Rome came along, I had to admit, I was a little skeptical. Who is this guy trying to take Brad's spot? Nothing against the guy, but he isn't Bradley. Let me tell you, there were moments in the show where I closed my eyes and thought Brad was on stage. They sounded so good. Eric and Bud were jamming just the same as they did back in the 90's. Fantastic show. Played all the hits and the feel of the crowd was great. I love this band. DEFINITELY worth seeing this show!!
We purchased the pre sale tickets and ended up in the front row. Rome did an excellent job and I'd highly recommend that any Sublime lovers take advantage of buying tickets next time their in town! This was the most enjoyable shows I've been to!
Jannus is a great venue. It was really packed. The band was awesome. Rome played amazing guitar and sang perfectly. Very professional show!!
It was a must see simply because it was Sublime and most of us never got to see them when Bradley was still with them. I felt a little underwhelmed with Rome's performace and it was evident that the band was only back together to make some $
The opening band ' The Dirty Heads' was awesome. I love listening to Sublime but I thought the opening band was better this time. Don't get me wrong, I think they were good but I wasn't crazy about some of their new songs.
wow what can i say the show was great. they did a good job by picking rome to sing he was perfect i cant wait for them to come back so i can see them again thanks sublime with rome
Sublime with Rome was a great show. It was my first time going to Jannus Live in St. Pete for a concert and I totally loved the place. The surroundings, raftors, balcony, and the courtyard venue was something I truly enjoyed. Rome was a perfect selection as lead singer and I would recommend anyone with reservation go see Sublime with Rome once and you will be sold. He isnt trying to be someone else and is naturally suited for the band. All in all fabulous, check them out!
Great Conert easy entry!!! Definatly do it again!!!
