About

Stray Kids on Tour

At eight members, K-pop phenoms Stray Kids are the size of a small militia, but the numbers are working for them. With their clean-cut image and surprisingly edgy sound, the group have carved out a niche for themselves, following in the footsteps of fellow K-pop boy bands like BTS.

Stray Kids swerve joyfully between EDM and rap — yes, you'll hear lots of skittering hi-hats — but what really distinguishes them (aside from the deft and convincing rapping) is the hard electric guitar that runs through their songs. It gives the band a surprising and distinctive rock edge. Add in good looks and dance skills, and you have a hot live show. In 2018, the group played showcases in Korea and abroad, and in 2019 they booked their first international tour, which took them through Asia and the U.S.

Stray Kids Background

Stray Kids may sound like something out of Dickens, but these kids actually met on the set of a South Korean reality TV show by the same name in 2017. Though nominally a survival show in which participants would be voted off, all nine young men ended up making it into the band: Bang Chan, Woojin, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N.

Within that group, three members quickly took responsibility for much of the songwriting and production, led by Bang Chan (who grew up in Australia); they call themselves 3racha. In January 2018, Stray Kids dropped their first EP, the winkingly named Mixtape.

That release was followed by three more throughout 2018: I Am Not, I Am Who, and I Am You. Each one built on the hype, and the band quickly gained an international following. When awards season came around, they cleaned up, winning New Artist of the Year at the Gaon Chart Music Awards in 2018, Rookie of the Year at the 2018 Asia Artist Awards, and the Mnet Award for Best New Male Artist. In 2019, they won the Seoul Music Award for Rookie of the Year.

    pretty cool

by shiro on 4/5/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

I'll be honest and state that I went with my siblings (my sister is the Stay and my brother is a causal listener) as moral support since most of their music isn't really my preference, but I did enjoy some of their ballads and they do know how to work the crowds and show off their stage presence. Overall, better than I expected.

Skz were amazing!! The venue and staff could do better tho

by Pompom flan on 4/5/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

I purchased 2 horchatas from the northgate Mercado and 1 had gone bad. $10 wasted. Also, people on the floor were standing on chairs! Staff or security could’ve been more vigilant and proactive on nipping the standing on chairs situation

    Great performance

by Rachael on 4/5/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

Stray Kids of course did amaaaazing but I didn't care much for the set up of the stage. I feel like it was too much to one side and those of us on the opposite side didn't have a good view when our seats had the potential to have a really good view

    Amazing, nothing else to say

by Sylvanna on 4/5/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

Amazing group, love every single one of them. I will definitely continue to go see them. They are very wholesome. The show had amazing camera work on the first night and okay camera work on the second. There was fireworks at the end. Love their playfulness and how they interact with the crowd. They have great choreography and bobs. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next as they continue to grow. Until next time.

    I loved it!

by B on 4/5/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

They were so good live!! They dance with so much power! Their live band was also very talented. The crowd was super excited and fun as-well. My only critique would be for BMO stadium. They should consider syncing the acoustics better because at times the various speakers were at different speeds making some music sound overlapped/doubled. It was only a couple of times but yea. Besides that, even if you’re not into Kpop, consider going to a Stray kids concert. You’ll have a great time…Hi Felix 😉
