  • a delightful evening

by ZipW on 11/3/25Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing the concert movie Stop Making Sense was wonderful, and having Jerry Harrison there with us for some Q and A discussion afterward was fantastic! I highly recommend this film - it's great fun. You'll be dancing in your seat (or in the aisles). Jerry was warm, friendly, open, and personable. He's so kind and down to earth that he makes you feel completely welcome. This was a great experience! Highly recommend. Thank you, Jerry, for all the joy you and Talking Heads have brought us throughout the years. : )

  • The theater really let me down

by Jim on 11/2/25Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 2 out of 5

Beautiful theater, great film, but totally disappointed. Why? The sound cut out of the left channel around three songs into the film and was not fixed, then during the last song, the encore… the picture shut off… no picture, no sound for almost 10 minutes. Finally it came back on just in time for the credits. Very, very disappointed. The talk with Jerry Harrison afterwords was great and the only reason I gave as many stars as I did.

  • Great evening with Jerry Harrison

Really enjoyed the film, chat, and audience Q&A with Jerry Harrison. How often do you get to watch Stop Making Sense wirh an actual member of the Talking Heads present so it was pretty darn sweet. I was surprised at how few tickets sold, is it the bad economy? Kind of felt bad for Jerry in that regard. In spite of that he was really charming and enthusiastic discussing the film and answering questions. One possible upside of the low attendance was Jerry signed records from the edge of the stage afterwards which I feel like may not have happened with a bigger crowd so Jerry if you read this thank you and thanks for coming to Richmond! Highly reccomend you go if it comes to your city.

  • Like you’re at a live show

by Evan on 5/8/25Taft Theatre - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

The greatest concert film I’ve ever seen! I always regretted never seeing Talking Heads live so when I saw that Jerry Harrison was appearing with Stop Making Sense at the Taft Theater, I had to be there! The Taft was the perfect venue! After experiencing the film, I feel like I truly saw Talking Heads in concert. Having the opportunity to hear Jerry Harrison talk after the film just added to the “live” feel. It was unforgettable!

  • Very good, could have been better

I really enjoyed seeing the film again. This was the second time I’ve seen the A24 version. The video and audio are so clean; it is amazing. But the screen could have been larger, IMO. Also, it wasn’t close to a sellout, so there wasn’t as much energy in the room. But, I still really enjoyed it, and I would see it again.

  • Cool idea, bad execution

by Todd Ponders on 5/5/25Embassy Theatre - Fort WayneRating: 2 out of 5

I was looking forward to see Stop Making Sense in a theater setting with great sound. We didn't get that. When the movie started it was clear that we were watching a DVD shown on a screen a couple of floor monitors were there providing the sound. When Jerry Harrison came out to introduce the show, his mic wasn't working. They got that fixed after a few minutes. When the movie started, no sound for about 5 minute. When we finally got sound it was barely audible. Finally . . . they got the volume adjusted then restarted the movie. From there the sound fluctuated from none to blasting you out of your seats. After about 25 minutes into the show, the sound issues were "resolved", although the sound quality was never what it should have been. The picture quality was also poor. The highlight -- Q&A with Jerry Harrison was AWESOME. Overall, disappointed, given the amount of money that this event cost. I hope they get it together for the remainder of the 'tour'.

  • Mediocre Event

by Greg on 5/5/25Embassy Theatre - Fort WayneRating: 2 out of 5

The movie was great, and that is what we went for, but the rest of the evening was very unlike what I have come to expect from the Embassy theater. The sound was lousy, the bar closed way too early, and the general production quality of the evening was way below Embassy standards.

  • A movie experience like no other

by Msprairie on 5/4/25George Van Dusen Theatre at North Shore Center - SkokieRating: 5 out of 5

The audience was so engaged they were actually clapping after each song as if it was live. I thoroughly enjoyed it. No a bad seat, easy parking.

  • Great on a Big Screen with Big Sound

Wonderful quality. So much better on a big screen with geat sound. Lots of positive vibes from the movie

Such a fun night. I had seen this film many times before but to see it with Jerry Harrison hosting was super cool. Everyone loved the movie and getting to dance was amazing. Loved getting to ask Jerry a question as well.
