About

STEVIE B IN CONCERT:

Miami hero and Latin freestyle legend Stevie B is as beloved for his floor-filling breakbeat jams as he is for tender superbalads like "Because I Love You (The Postman Song)." At his 2013 shows, Stevie kept crowds moving with adrenalin-filled sets of his classic Latin-infused electro — booming bass, dramatic synth stabs, and his signature R&B croon. With appearances at freestyle festivals scheduled throughout 2014, Stevie will be making good on his promise to "Party Your Body."

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born and raised in Florida, Stevie B worked a variety of odd jobs before scoring his breakout single in 1987 with freestyle club hit "Party Your Body." 1988 sophomore album In My Eyes continued this success, hinting at his crossover potential with three Top 40 hits. That potential was realized in 1990 with Love & Emotion, a more mature and diverse album that showed off his softer side and earned him his first No. 1 "Because I Love You (The Postman Song)."  A pioneer of freestyle music and a tireless performer, Stevie reminds fans why he's known as the "King of Freestyle" every time he hits the road for another tour.

Freestyle Concert 7/8/23 @ The Greek Theater

    by Ocqueen on 7/11/23

Freestyle concert was really good. A few of the performers are no where near as good as they use to be and were not the best to listen to. Trinere, Expose, Cover girls and Rodeney O were all great! If I'm being honest, sweet sensation, Egyptian Lover and Stevie B were not the greatest and I was HUGE fans of all their music back in the day. Lisa Lisa was good as well. Trinere stole the show as did Expose!! All in all it was a great concert at The Greek Theater on July 8, 2023.

    Freestyle Forever

    by Lucia on 7/11/23

To be able to see such talented artists is a delight. The artists had everyone signing & dancing. It would have been nice if the opening artists had more than 10 min to perform. Overall a dream to be able and see them on stage! #FreestyleForever

    No reception

    by Fan on 7/11/23

Everything is fine only down fall is no screenshots and when I went to greek to being that it's by park the reception sucks. And it's hard to go in. Luckily the ticket booth helped me out. Other wise it was great 👍

    Unhappy with this concert

by Elizabeth on 6/19/23Orleans Arena - Las Vegas

We were bumped several times by people behind us they sometimes apologized, also beer was spilled on us . The Dj’s had to much bass . In the future need to install signs to the attendees to be considerate of people in front you.

This was the best show I have ever been to.

by Rita on 6/13/23Orleans Arena - Las Vegas

I'm in my 60's and have seen many live shows.Every performer really gave it their all. They had so much energy and they really engaged the crowd. My favorite was Taylor Dayne. Her voice was by far the best. She had the most professional looking and sounding show. Not saying the others werent great its just she hasnt lost a step and she is 61 yrs old.Thank You so much to the ppl who put this show together.I cant wait until next years show.Hoping Taylor is in next years show!

Brings back a lot of high school memories and our younger years . We keep coming back every year just to see different bands that we grew up listening to when we were young . Can’t wait for next year 🤙🏾

    Waste of money

by Vic on 6/13/23Orleans Arena - Las Vegas

I tried to give it zero stars but wasn’t able to. Whomever put this combination of performers together did a great disservice to Taylor Dayne fans. This was a horrible experience. When I bought the tickets I thought I was seeing Taylor Dayne. When I got the ticket confirmation I realized it was for freestyle. So for $108 got four songs from Taylor and the rest of the three hours was rap and hip hop. No live music it was all recordings.I can go to karaoke for much less than this. Plus the guy next to me smoked his fruit flavored vape pen the entire concert . Horrible experience.

    Terrible sound

by Ugh on 6/13/23Orleans Arena - Las Vegas

Other than Taylor dayne who brought her own sound guy, the sound in that venue was so bad it made the experience terrible. You couldn’t hear the vocalist in the mix.

    Freestyle Explosion 2023

by Wendy on 6/13/23Orleans Arena - Las Vegas

Got there late (due to NHL playoffs) and left before seeing Stevie B cause it was so long. Loved MOST of the concert. Was disappointed Tone Loc didn't do more of his own singing. I don't even know who that was singing on stage with/for him. Taylor Dayne and Lisa Lisa sounded exactly the same. I liked how it was several artists, playing their number 1 songs though. I don't understand why there was a need for down time between artists though. It's not like anyone needed to do an outfit change or rest their voices.

    Disappointed

by M.C. on 3/15/23Watsco Center at the University of Miami - Coral Gables

When you purchase tickets for a freestyle concert, that's what you expect to hear. I can handle thwm combining freestyle and rap/hip hop, but not preaching. In addition, several performers appeared to be having a hard time; they either literally said "I have to catch my breath" or would hold the microphone out for the audience to sing. I've been to a freestyle concert before and loved it. After this. I doubt I'll return. At least not for this lineup.

    Great Concert

by Rainier on 3/15/23Watsco Center at the University of Miami - Coral Gables

The sound system sounded better this time then last year. Loved that Triniere and The Jets were there. They can still perform. Its good to see a different batch of groups. Montell also did great.

If You Can Go, Definitely Go

by B. B. on 3/14/23Watsco Center at the University of Miami - Coral Gables

It wasn't 'quite' as much fun as last year, but it's something you only would have noticed if you went last year. Honestly, I think the crowd was a bit smaller and that made the difference. I thought about checking to see The performances ranged from good to great, definitely worth the money I spent for tickets - and being in the eighth row, I probably spent as much as anyone. Freestyle (the group), The Jets, and Johnny O were the best to me. Keep in mind that the lineups vary between cities.

1 of the greatest artist of all time.

Great Performance (Top Class Artist) Sound System Sucks (Poor Quality Sound System @ Watsco Center)

Always great especially with the entire band.

by Laura on 3/14/23Watsco Center at the University of Miami - Coral Gables

There is a Major Problem with WM Center the sound engineer sucks for every single freestyle concert, it was so bad this time, the bass completely disappeared and another the entire left side. I will say this again if the music is from the 80's & 90's with such awesome beats you can't tune that have an extremely young sound engineer. I have called WM left messages no answer no call back. Its alot better at Hard Rock Live

    Disoriented seats

by Tito on 3/14/23Watsco Center at the University of Miami - Coral Gables

We feel greatly disappointed at this event for we got robbed. We were denied access to the seats that I paid full price for. Although we asked for directions, we were just guided from one attendant to the next without finding our correct seats. It was so frustrating that we gave up and sat down on the upper dark seats which I’m sure were of a lower price. The far-sided lateral angle was extremely uncomfortable to watch the event. We were delighted to attend the last Free Style concert at the Hard Rock Hotel for there was no confusion or hardship in finding our seats.

    Organized space

by cjnanairda on 3/14/23Watsco Center at the University of Miami - Coral Gables

The concert was 1000000! I did, however, witness a couple who called the cops on a group of friends that were dancing while standing and apparently tag was invading the couples space. Perhaps, provide an option to say the type of concert go-er one is to kinda have the boring people with the boron and the party people with the party people. Also, the chairs need more space between one another.
