Steel Panther Tucson Show Review
by PantherFan on 8/21/23Rating: 2 out of 5When Steel Panther first burst onto the scene, they brought a refreshing blend of glam rock and humor that was both nostalgic and entertaining. Songs like Asian Hooker and Community Property showcased their musical prowess and cheeky lyrical style, quickly making them favorites in my playlist.
However, their recent live performances in Tucson, Arizona, deviated from what initially made them captivating. Instead of delivering a solid setlist, the band increasingly indulged in long-winded, often unfunny stories and banter. The charm of their old-school rock persona was overshadowed by unnecessary and boring jokes that felt more like filler than genuine entertainment. There needed to be a balance between music and humor, which unfortunately tipped unfavorably toward outdated and unimaginative comedic routines. The Tucson show was the first one out of the twenty I have been to, where I left early.
In conclusion, while Steel Panther started with a promising blend of rock and humor, their recent performance in Tucson was bogged down by excessive banter, detracting from the musical experience many fans initially fell in love with.
