What an act...best described as Spinal Tap 2013. Believe it or not, I was first introduce to this via You Tube (no surprise there, right?). In 2 words their just damn entertaining, For those of us who have a history in some form or fashion w/ this genre of music called "hair band" that comes off like yesterdays Zappa, MC5, Twisted Sister. I simply love the whole shtick, dress-up & get nasssssssssssstytytytytytytytyty & for what its about, u know the subject material, the writing is hysterical satire. Personally, I think it brilliant, & I bow to whoever came up w/ this concept. This seems like an act that would fit well at the Hard Rock in Vegas. Now the down side, due to my advance age I ain't about SRO venues. Even if Medicare will pay for the med bills. I wasn't blessed to be tall, so after 45mins it got too be too much. But the venue had to have done well, like 500/600.
I went and saw Steel Panther with my boyfriend and friends in Boston 4/17 and loved it so much that the next day we bought tickets to the Hampton Beach show 4/20!! Both concerts were phenomenal!!!! They know how to put on a great show and keep the audience entertained with their insane musical talent and whitty/hysterical chatter. Loved them!!!! We have already discussed seeing them again if they come around the Boston area again :) it was also nice of them to say somthing serious about the Boston Marthon bombings.
Best 80"show I have seen since the 80's!!! Fun, talented, loud, engaging, If your a fan of the fun hair bands of the 80's and can take a dirty joke, go see them, you wont be dissapointed.
it was more of an act with to much vulgar talk. Less talk, more singing would be good.
One of the best shows I've ever seen, in my over 30 years of concert experience!! If they come to your area you HAVE to go check them out! I will see them every time they are in my area. I was bummed that I had to go to work today because I would have driven two hours to Wallingford CT to see them Sunday night too, if I didn't have work today.
I think Steel Panther had as much fun as the crowd. It was balls to the floor!
The concert was simply amazing. I was even surprised that the opening band, Hillbilly Herald, wasn't complete garbage, as is usually the case with opening bands. However, the audio mix was terrible. The bass was way too high, and I could barely hear the guitars (I couldn't hear them at all for Hillbilly Herald). This was a hair metal concert, the guitars should be up-front and loud.
I saw Steel Panther at Hampton Beach on 4-19. It was a much needed escape and a chance to exhale after a trying week for Boston & America. I had so much fun and laughed my butt off. Thanks Gents for much needed metal therapy!
This concert was so much goddamn fun an I would totally go again if thy come back, this was a couple of my friends first concert and I thought this was perfect and was
steel panther was ok but hillbilly herald was better than steel panther. i would go see hillbilly herald again as long as its not at hampton beach casino. the people in the crown were very rude and alot of them drunk. it was the worst venue i have ever been at.
Great show. Saw them in House of Blues in Vegas a year ago. So pumped that they made it to Clifton Park. The crowd was huge and got the band pumped up. Great energy.
Seeing a band like Steel Panther in a venue like Upstate Concert Hall is fantastic! They put just as much into the show as they do when the are playing NYC. I love these guys! Such an entertaining show it is hard to believe they are such awesome musicians. If you have never seen them - you MUST go! Best metal band on tour right now. And Hillbilly Herald was great! Never seen them before - I bought both discs!
I was so happy the "goings on" in Boston @ the time didn't stop the show! This was one of the greatest & most entertaining shows I've seen in a long time!
Steel Panther was an awesome show; these guys live up to their image...for sure! Would go see them again for sure!
I have been regularly attending concerts for over 35 years and I believe I may have witnessed the single most entertaining show of my life. First: They are world class musicians. Michael Starr can high the high notes that David Lee Roth and Vince Neil could never dream of reaching. Satchel is the equal of Eddie Van Halen. Maybe not in originality terms but as far as ability and fret speed, he is every bit his peer. His guitar solo (especially when he started playing the drums at the same time), was over the top. Second: They are an amazing comedy act. Their between song banter, while X rated, was hysterically funny. The songs killed it, the crowd sang along and everyone went home happier. They are great. Do not miss them. Disclaimer: If you are of the faint of heart and are offended by foul language and bare breasts, avoid this band like the plague!
This was my third time seeing Steel Panter. Once in Vegas and twice in the ATL. Every time has been an awesome experience. I went with a large group and everyone said they had a fantastic time. These guys are hilarious and very talented. These guys were obscure a few years ago but have really gotten popular with people who love hair bands/metal.
Always fun, and better when the band throws a few classic hair metal covers in the mix.
As much of an improv show as it is a concert and the music was surprisingly good. Quite funny at times, the bass player's offhand remarks and primping with a sequined mirror added flavor. Lots of fun with a diverse crowd. Definitely worth seeing.
Awesome show!!!! This is the second time I've seen Steel Panther and I would totally go again!
