Stars of Russian Ballet Tickets

I was excited to see that the "Stars of Russian Ballet" was being performed at the Detroit Opera House this year...the impressive caliber of the dancers will now be complimented by the gorgeous opera house stage and theater. I saw this show for the first time three years ago in Ann Arbor, and was beyond impressed not only with the technical brilliance of the ballet dancers, but with their captivating grace and stage presence. It was hard to believe that a performance like this, with dancers from major companies all around the word, was found in a small theater in a city in Michigan. Now, of course, they are moving up to a stage worthy of the dancing...and I can't wait to see it!

I would definitely recommend this performance to anyone who loves ballet or anyone who is new to ballet. The professional dancers come from all over the world and from the best companies in the United States. I have seen this Gala twice at the Power Center in Ann Arbor and am thrilled it is at the Opera House - which seems an appropriate venue for this classy event. The Gala includes a mix of styles from classical to contemporary ballet at its finest. I am so grateful that this event comes to Michigan and we are lucky enough to have these amazing performer right in our own backyard.

I was thrilled to see this amazing performance move to the Opera House - a spectacular place to watch some of the best ballet you will ever see in Michigan. I have been to this show twice at the Power Center in Ann Arbor and each time the artists and performances have been more thrilling than the last. From contemporary that provokes and moves, to more traditional classical pieces that represent some of the best ballet has to offer. Each year the performers - who come from Russia, but also from Europe and top American companies are great. My mom and I couldn't wait to get our tickets. Don't miss this - you won't be disappointed!

Awful -- this was like watching a recital of under-rehearsed advanced ballet students. Corps was sloppy and uneven. The "stars" were hammy and full of elan, but technically poor. A better title would have been "Rejects of the Russian Ballet." If you are somewhat educated on dance, don't go. You'll be disappointed and angry you wasted your money. The audience there still whooped it up and cheered for some lame pyrotechnics, so some may find it amusing; more suited if you're into watching acrobatics or circus stunts. The artistry wasn't there. And neither were any "Stars" of the Russian Ballet.

Beautiful, inspiring, the ballet stole my heart and uplifted me to the celestial levels of aesthetics that are ordinarily well beyond my usual state of consciousness. I w as uplifted and given tea with the gods.

Very lovely. My only negative comment was that the dancers do not make eye contact which causes disconnect.

This performance was a very nice. The only reason why I do not give 5 stars is because me personally am not big fun of compilations but kids were delighted to watch highlights of various ballets. Performers were fantastic and audience clapped them several times.

The only improvement I would recommend would be to charge double the price so that a live orchestra could accompany the artists. Also would have liked to read about the individual ballet dancers and their bios.
