The movie, which is a classic, and the venue were great. The experience, not so much. Long lines at the concessions prior to the start of the movie. The audio was horrible! Although the sound to the special effects was excruciatingly loud, it was difficult to hear the dialogue. And who runs out of popcorn at the movie theater???!!??? Overall experience was very average. Would not recommend going to see a movie here.
The movie stands the test of time, and it was wonderful to see it in such a grand theater. The venue also went the extra mile making the show goer’s feel welcome along with a fun costume contest activity.
We were very disappointed in the event - it was extremely poorly managed - the movie started nearly 30 minutes late, lights were not turned off and then came back on during the show, the intermission was very abrupt (they turned the movie off mid scene, turned the lights on and someone screamed intermission!) - and then the intermission ran too long - we won’t go back to a movie here, which is sad because the renovation is great!
