It was absolutely fantastic. I would see it again in a heartbeat.
I kind of knew what to expect with Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage because I had previously gone on the website advertising it, but when I say it was more than my husband and I could have imagined, take it as the gospel truth! The imagery was was so riveting you almost forgot there was a full blown live orchestra playing the music instead of it being canned. As a fan of Star Trek, the show made you reminisce all the great TV episodes and movies from beginning to end, but it could easily make a new comer to the franchise a fan quickly. The orchestra...oh the fantastic, amazing, and phenomenal orchestra....what a joy it was to listen to your favorite themes being played live! It took you far into the stratosphere with every note they played. It thrilled the Trekker in my husband and solidified myself into an fan for life!
Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage was Wonderful. I am not a Super Fan like some people. This was my first time attending a Star Trek event. However, I own an Enterprise model spacecraft and the entire Star Trek Voyager Series. And growing up I wanted to marry Captain Sisko of Deep Space Nine. Nonetheless, I am a Fan of Star Trek because it is based on science and promotes peace. I am saying all of this to let you know that my five stars are for real. If you are a basic Fan like me you will enjoy the performance. The stage is designed to hide the orchestra and remind you of a Star Trek set. The music and scenes selections were awesomely blended together. The show told the history of Star Trek without seeming like a lecture. It was nice to see how much the special effects improved over the years. And it was great to see all the familiar characters in scenes I had forgotten. Everyone cheered at the end. I felt privileged to have been at the event.
The whole setup is grand at opereum. Plus the details of the stage is nicely done. An ultimate must for any star trek fan and for a regular like me too it was a great experience.
The orchestra is amazing. They sounded like they were part of the star trek clips. I forgot a couple times that the orchestra was even there.
The stage was wonderfully decorated, the music phenomenal! I did enjoy the scenes on screen, but I could have done without hearing the dialogue, it took away from the music some. I also wish the would have matched the music to the scenes. Overall though, very well done!
An awesome time. The orchestra was great, as were all of the Star Trek video montages. I especially liked that all five of the live-action television series were well represented in the concert. Each series was given its own chance to shine.
Even if you are not a Star Trek Fan you will enjoy this show.
What a wonderful way to remind the world what Star Trek is really about. The movie scenes woven with the music was superb. The symphony was first class. I urge anyone that wants an evening with a cultured approach along with the Star Trek theme to not miss this outstanding concert experience.
The music / film combination was terrific! Stage design facilitated the blending of the musicians with the film . . . almost forgot they were actually on stage! Great entertainment that crossed multiple generations.
Trekki or just a fan, this show is for you. The Orchestra is phenominal. Sounds like a sound track they are so spot on! This is a Do Not miss show! Our teens even enjoyed it!
Having a live orchestra playing all that unforgettable music from all the different series and movies made all the difference. Loved it.
Although it had some moments, the production was confusing.
Wonderful show! It was like sitting in on the moviemaking process! Hearing the themes and music from favorite shows in the soaring excitement of a live orchestra is enough to make you tear up. Truly wonderful musicians.
What a delightful evening! Selected portions of the movies were well chosen and the stage design and lighting was amazing. A GREAT experience for Trekkies and non-Trekkies!
Excellent venue. I like to get there as early as possible to take it all in. The show had my heart pounding the entire time. If I one improvement, I would of wished for the video display in 1k or 4k The black level was to high, the background was gray. With the backdrop of space and stars, the black level really shown gray. It reminded me of the old NTSC days of a 7.5 setup!!! Great seats, great performance, great night! Let's go again!!!!
Great show! The tv and movie clips played on the big screen as the orchestra played the music which in this case was the star of the show.
If you are a fan or not, I believe everyone enjoyed the show
When I found out this concert was announced, I knew I had to boldly go where no other concert had been before. The question was when and where in Florida was the concert going to take place and for me it had to be on a weekend. I saw that it was going to be in Jacksonville on a Saturday and I said to myself, "Beam me up, I'm there!" The orchestra was amazing with the selection of music from all the Star Trek movies and TV series. The selected scenes blended beautifully with the music. If you are a Trekkie, this is the concert for you. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek. You will NOT be disappointed.
Let me start off by saying that I purchase my tickets for this event in July, at the moment they were released on TicketMaster. I am also HUGE Star Trek fan. However, I did not enjoy this show. My husband and I felt as if they took a wonderful concept and ruined it from trying to make it "fancy". I would had been tickled if they would had just played selected pieces from Star Trek properties. I came for the music. At times I wondered what was coming from the orchestra and what part was blaring from the speakers. My husband on the other hand thought that the movie screen showing scenes during the pieces should stay but remove the narration, most of the dialogue, and make the scenes selected much more coherent. We were just very, very disappointed.
