About

STAIND IN CONCERT:

With three consecutive No. 1 albums of anthemic nu metal in the '00s, Staind became one of the most successful alt-rock groups of the decade.  Blending muscular guitar shredding and singer Aaron Lewis's emotional, melodic lyrics, the band's impressive live shows span their entire discography, treating fans to studio-perfect renditions of their biggest hits alongside alternative, countrified versions of songs like "Mudshovel."

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Massachusetts in 1994, Staind started out playing hard rock covers in local clubs before self-releasing their 1996 debut Tormented. While they only pressed four thousand copies, the album garnered enough attention to land them a deal with Flip Records and the production assistance of Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst for their 1999 follow-up Dysfunction. The album received favorable reviews and drew comparisons to nu metal legends like Korn, but its reception paled in comparison to 2001's Break the Cycle, an international No. 1 and multi-platinum smash. The band's next four albums would all land in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200, establishing an impressive catalog of hits and building anticipation for the band's rumored return to the studio in 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Staind was unbelievable. The band sounded amazing. Aaron's voice gives you chills live. They played everything...They even played quite a few new songs which they totally killed on."

"Staind dug deeply into their classics to get the crowd going. Aaron Lewis was great and seemed to be having fun during an audience participation sequence. Staind played every song I wanted to hear plus more so I left very satisfied."

"I expected a top flight show from Staind and got it...they exceeded my expectations. They had a great mix of hard and soft music; all Staind."

    Shinedown Rocked

by Dundalkgal on 7/11/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

Shinedown Rocked - only one complaint....They did not sing Simpleman!! Their version is awesome, better than Skynard. Staind put on a good show as usual! They are always good to see. Halestorm rocked too. The singer has a powerful voice...and the drummer is Hot! He was entertaining to watch doing all the tricks with his drum sticks. It was a great night to sit and listen too some good music! We had a great time!

    Shinedown rocked the house!

by mattm0183 on 7/11/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

Shinedown was absolutely phenomenal. They put on the best show of the night. Brent Smith has one of the most amazing voices of any lead singer around. Aaron Lewis was great as always. Chevelle was awesome and Halestorm is an up and coming band with a lot of talent.

    Show was awesome.

by PaulnAmanda on 7/11/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

This is our second Staind concert and we loved it. Halestorm rocked. Chevelle wasnt what we expected. Shinedown was incredible. We loved the fact that they gave credit to the men and women who serve in the military. I appreciate that since I served in the Corps and toured twice. Staind is always awesome and they put on a hell of a show. Thats why they are our favorite band.

    Staind, Shinedown, Chevelle, Hailstorm

by Show on 7/11/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

I thought Halestorm totally rocked the stage. High energy. Chevelle was pretty good despite the fact much of their music sounded digitized ( sounds coming from singers that were not moving their lips at the time) Shinedown rocked despite not playing Simple Man and I Dare You, and Staind was very good, but predictable. I have seen Staind 3 times, and while his voice is awesome live, he doesn't really offer anything new in the performance. Overall rating 4 out of 5 stars.

    Best seats in the house!

by ougirl on 7/11/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

Halestorm was a good opener, but 4 bands doesn't give enough time for each band. Would have preferred 3 bands, giving Shinedown more time.

    Staind, along w/others were amazing!

by Ravenloverrr on 7/11/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

I loved that staind brought shinedown, which were unbelievable!, Chevelle was awesome!. And then staind came on, and I never thought they would sound so amazing. I paid $25 for my ticket, and it was well worth it. I brought my 2 boys 12 and 8. They can't stop raving over the bands. Needless to say, their looking for their next rock concert at the merriweather. Oh and the security at the Merriweather was the best security crew that I have seen in all my 32 years. Thanks Merriweather for making me feel safe bringing my kids.

    Awesome rock show!

by TnT2 on 7/11/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

We had such a great time. It was really a great value to be able to see 3 headling bands at one concert. Props to Halestorm's female lead singer, she is very talented! We look forward to hearing more from them! I had never been to a Staind show before, and was really impressed! Especially when the lead singer did an acoustic set in the middle of the pavilion and did the songs sooo well! Chevelle was great! We had seen them years ago @ a small club called, The Thunderdome, in Balimore City. That was when they had just put out the song, The Red. Seeing them in concert again after all of those years was great, and I was very impressed at how much sound comes out of a three piece band. Love the new song, IGET IT! I did get the CD. We had seen Shinedown's show a couple times before and they did not disappoint! The positive messages and good vibes that Brent sends out help to unify the audience and makes for a very uplifting experience! We hope that Brent takes care of his voice and can give us more of those high notes at the next show! Simply a class act!

This concer was excellent! All the bands were fantastic, and they really knew how to get the audience involved! Both lead singers from Shinedown and Staind came into the audience for a "visit" :) Staind even sang a couple of songs from the middle of the audience...excellent!

This show was freaking fantastic. I'd pay big money to get to see them again. Next time I'm gonna try to get tickets into the pit, I got great pics from the center, but i could only imagine how wonderful they would be from the pit. Keep rocking and I'll keep coming.

    Chevelle needs to headline!

by knoblaser on 7/11/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

Chevelle & Staind put on amazing shows... Staind just killed it. Shinedown needs to wrap up the monologues and just play their music... it was a bit too WWE for me.

Stimulate this is mold others should follow

by hiredgunzz on 7/11/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

With times being hard finiancially for people, Staind, Shinedown, Chevelle, Halestorm, and Lo-Pro, understand that and made sure that the tickets were affordable and then put on a tremendous show. Bands that are charging $80-$90 a ticket should go to a Stimulate This show one night and maybe they to will understand. I took someone with me to the show was not familiar with most of the music, but he said he was now a fan and would go see these bands again, because of their music and taking care of the fans. Here is my quick review: Lo-Pro - missed them, as we got to venue a little late and had to go pick up tickets Halestorm - had heard a couple of their songs, but they put on an awesome show live. Chevelle- Very solid setlist and nice lead into Shinedown Shinedown - how many bands would say during their show " forget about your work or problems right now, tonight you are here to have a good time and we are here to work for you" Shinedown put on one of the most amazing live shows I have ever seen. I also have never been to a show at Merriweather were the fans from row A to the back of the lawn were signing along to every song and so into the show. Staind - Fifth time seeing them, and they are still one of my favorite bands to see.. They are not a band that has all the flashing pyro or fancy set ups, they are a smash mouth in your face band. Once again they put on a tremendous show

Staind and other bands make timeless show

by taoson on 7/11/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

I went into the show expecting a phenomenal performance from Chevelle, Shinedown, and Staind. I recieved that and more. I was first blown away by Halestorm and they're amazing drummer. I finally was able to witness the greatness that is Chevelle first hand and wasn't disappointed. Shinedown and Staind really got the crowd going with a few of their unforgettable songs.

    Staind/Shinedown/Chevelle/Halestorm@Merriweather

by miner49er on 7/11/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

All 4 bands were excellant! Lzzy Hale has a great "set of pipes" and the drumming is most entertaining let alone intense! Chevelle is Chevelle....hard, driving, intense and damn good live!!! Shinedown was good but the microphone on Bret Smith seemed as it could have been louder or maybe it just took his voice a few songs to "loosen up". But they definately had the crowd going all through their set. Staind put on an excellant show and the effects were very nice. All in all a great night for a great price of admission.

    Halestorm; Chevelle; Shinedown; Staind

by rockergirl624 on 7/10/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

Halestorm; Chevelle; Shinedown; Staind Halestorm kicked some major butt!! They were way better than Chevelle. I had seen bot bands play previously--and I was SO PROUD of the level Halestorm has risen to. KUDOS to you!!! I love Chevelle too!! Shinedown's singer walked around the crowd--THANKS for doing that!! It was AWESOME!! Staind was great. Aaron Lewis--I met your wife in the bathroom. She is a nice person. Congrats to you both. I love the venue at the Merriweather. It reminds me of Hersheypark--without the rides plus drinking is allowed.
