About

STAIND IN CONCERT:

With three consecutive No. 1 albums of anthemic nu metal in the '00s, Staind became one of the most successful alt-rock groups of the decade.  Blending muscular guitar shredding and singer Aaron Lewis's emotional, melodic lyrics, the band's impressive live shows span their entire discography, treating fans to studio-perfect renditions of their biggest hits alongside alternative, countrified versions of songs like "Mudshovel."

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Massachusetts in 1994, Staind started out playing hard rock covers in local clubs before self-releasing their 1996 debut Tormented. While they only pressed four thousand copies, the album garnered enough attention to land them a deal with Flip Records and the production assistance of Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst for their 1999 follow-up Dysfunction. The album received favorable reviews and drew comparisons to nu metal legends like Korn, but its reception paled in comparison to 2001's Break the Cycle, an international No. 1 and multi-platinum smash. The band's next four albums would all land in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200, establishing an impressive catalog of hits and building anticipation for the band's rumored return to the studio in 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Staind was unbelievable. The band sounded amazing. Aaron's voice gives you chills live. They played everything...They even played quite a few new songs which they totally killed on."

"Staind dug deeply into their classics to get the crowd going. Aaron Lewis was great and seemed to be having fun during an audience participation sequence. Staind played every song I wanted to hear plus more so I left very satisfied."

"I expected a top flight show from Staind and got it...they exceeded my expectations. They had a great mix of hard and soft music; all Staind."

    Hoobastank/Staind Aweome at Club Nokia

by justagirlinca on 7/13/09CLUB NOKIA - Los Angeles

This venue is the best in LA to see a show. The sound was amazing as were the bands performances. Aaron Lewis completely drew the audience in and brought it home as usual.

    Took by surprise!

by Jammmy on 7/12/09Reno Ballroom - Reno

I went thinking, ya staind is good and talented but i wasnt to sure about how they would be live. My girlfrind loves them and we like going to concerts so i was more than willing to go, and i dont know why but i wasnt expecting what happened that night. Well let me tell you iam a bigger staind fan now than ever. They put so much energy through air it was amazing, you would have thought it was their last peformance. Its the bands that sound better live than on the radio that i give the highest credit to and appreciate so much, and you could see thats just how they do it. Best part was they were so crowd friendly making us laugh more than a few times, and giving extra songs they didnt have to play, it was great!

    Staind Concert

by DirtMcGirt on 7/12/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

Staind was more into it than usual. Guitar player was actually happy to be there, bass player never even moved his feet. Same old new style sappiness that Staind provides. Halestorm suprisingly rocked out, sounded great. Chevelle was miserable, and I was mostly there to see them. If you don't want to be on tour, then don't be on tour, it was noticable. Shinedown stole the show for me, which was also a surprise because I've seen them before, and I felt like I was at a christian concert. Crowd was terrible, not sure anyone even knew who these bands were. People with fake VIP passes trying to work there way up in the pit. I've been here since the beginning, don't try cutting in front of me! All in all a decent show.

    Aaron Lewis rocks !

by jewi on 7/12/09CLUB NOKIA - Los Angeles

The show was more than what I expected. I had seen Aaron Lewis acoustic before but with the whole band it intensified it that much more. Staind is one of the few rock bands these days that I have respect for because they are so talented and remain classy. (for a rock band). The lights were amazing the set list had a lot of variety and the hoobastank didn't play that long. (Don't get me wrong they rocked but I hate it when opening bands drag on). I will definitely want to see them the next time their in LA.

    Staind was awesome

by wickedluv on 7/12/09CLUB NOKIA - Los Angeles

This was my first Staind concert. Ever since I heard Staind for the first time, I related and feel in love with his music. I believe every song he sings comes from the heart. Songs have more meaning when you can relate to the word. I will continue to go to Staind concerts from now on. So come on Staind come back to Los Angeles, CA so we can enjoy you sing in front of us. LOVE YA!!

    Shinedown was Unbelievable!

by TRRocks on 7/12/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

I've seen Hendrix, Godsmack, Papa Roach, Seether, Staind, Metallica, Hinder, Aerosmith, and on and on live, but Shinedown blew me away with their energy! Yes, Staind rocked as they have always done on CD's and live, but, Shinedown rocked the planet, period!

    Shinedown stole the show

by TattooYou on 7/12/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

Quick review - Chevelle was pretty good - nothing special. Staind - great musicians, sound was over-amped, and it was actually a kinda boring. Shinedown played to the entire audience, was energetic, and made the night. Overall a good experience, but Shinedown should have headlined the show.

by ConcertsforLife on 7/12/09CLUB NOKIA - Los Angeles

My 1st Staind headlining concert and I was amazed how good they sound live. It's been a while since finally came out of a concert feeling great, and this one definitely kept me talking about it to others. Great performance at a great venue, Club Nokia. I would see Staind the next time they come back.

    loved it!

by cy72 on 7/12/09CLUB NOKIA - Los Angeles

Seeing Staind in a small venue was soooooo freakin awesome. His voice is perfect, he sang the last encore acoustic - no mic, amazing. Loved it. My boyfriend is a new fan after seeing them in concert. Club Nokia rocks for seeing bands, it's like going to the House of Blues.

Staind set was a little short

by Pigger on 7/12/09CLUB NOKIA - Los Angeles

This is the second time I've seen Staind, and the first time I saw them they played a 1:15 set. I know Aaron was having some throat problems then, so I chalked it up to that. This time at Nokia, they played an hour and a half. Marginally longer. The venue was great, but just wishing they could play a little longer set. Radiohead played for over two hours, Metallica for 2:15, and even Queensryche played a two hour set. Why does Staind cut it so short?

    Staind blew me away

by natdhall on 7/12/09CLUB NOKIA - Los Angeles

. :Let me start by saying that i am a huge fan of staind. I have seen Aaron Lewis solo and watched them play a few songs for the Jimmy Kimmel live show. I was excited to see them perform together and expected that they would put on a great show. The band did that and so much more. Staind blew me away . They played songs from every album with so much energy and emotion. They made me and my fiancee feel as if they were playing only for us. I definitely recommend seeing them in concert.

Staind puts on a great show

by RobHood on 7/12/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

Very well run event. The staff was helpful and friendly (I am on crutches). The seats were amazing with great sight lines. The sound was very good. The opening acts were perfect for setting the tone for Staind. All the favorites were played with a very smooth cadence of the order of events. Especially liked when songs were sung in the middle of the crowd. The encore was a great choice.

Staind couldn't have been any better!

by staind1 on 7/12/09Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

The show started out with a band named Halestorm. I had heard very little from them and wasn't expecting much, but to my surprise, they put on a great performance. They showed great energy and featured an amazing drum solo with the entire band. Up next was Chevelle who got the crowd into the show for the first time of the evening. They started out by playing all of their hits and then ended the show with their hit single "I Get It," which had the entire audience singing along with them. Next up was Shinedown and they didn't disappoint at all. They played all of their hits and even some others. At one point they had the entire crowd jumping around and just having a good time. I didn't think it was possible for Staind to put on a better performance than Shinedown, but sure enough, they did. Their set started out with their guitarist playing the National Anthem. Then the intense sound of their guitars had the entire pavilion buzzing. Song after song the crowd cheered them on. The stage went dark and everyone thought that they were finished, but then the spotlight shined in the crowd and it was Staind's lead singer Aaron Lewis. All he had was his acoustic guitar and a stool. He played their hit singles "Outside" and "It's Been A While" right in the middle of the crowd. The audience sang every word right along with Aaron Lewis. He then left the crowd and went back on stage for one last song that ended the show. It was the best concert that I have been to. It featured four great bands that put on an awesome show for an unbelievable price. I just hope that they all do it again in the near future.
