Fantastic Show
by Joe on 9/19/22Saint Andrew's Hall - DetroitGreat performance from Spiritualized! No opener, played for 2 hours, alternating between walls of noise and his lighter songs. Killer lighting too. Definitely recommend if you are a fan.

Great performance. Sound was a little muddy compared to the following night in Portland. Could have been me......could have been the beers....coukd have sounded different upstairs. Good solid vibes either way. Amazing band. Venue was cool...would love to go back
The Masonic is a great venue with good acoustics that highlighted Spiritualized's musical style. It was a rare opportunity to see and hear Jason Pierce's compositions live. Not to be missed!
This was my third time seeing Spiritualized, and they were incredible (as they were the first two times). A mesmerizing blend of neo-psychedelic rock and noise rock (think Velvet Underground) with strings and a gospel choir. Really interesting stuff. They don't tour the US that frequently, so see them if you get the chance.
Unbelievably good. Trying to review Spiritualized is like trying to describe what it's like to see the Grand Canyon. Words will never do justice.
Excellent show and Excellent venue! The sound was awesome, Spaceman and his two female backup singers were clicking all night! Excellent band musicians! I travelled from Los Angeles to San Francisco to see this band in this venue, and I would do so again at the drop of a hat!
Why was this marketed as spiritualized playing Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space all the way through?
I have seen Spiritualized multiple times since its inception, from a tiny little club in England (The Warehouse in Derby) through much larger shows at the height of the LAGWAFIP period. But I have not seen them for many years and this show did not disappoint. Filled with all the songs you want to hear from the back catalogue. I missed the horn section (this was a mini tour I guess and only so many people you can bring with you!) and there were issues at the mixing desk (drums FAR too loud at the SF show and the Bass go muddy at times). But Jason's voice was strong and the band felt tight. Highly recommend.
Jason performed well particularly given his health challenges. Whole band played spectacularly to create sonic sound scapes.
I did three things at this concert that I have never done in the hundreds of shows I've been to over the years. 1. Almost Cry (Stay with me). 2. Have my hand up as if I'm at church waving it to and fro like I have the holy spirit (Happy Day). 3. Felt satisfied for days and felt released like some amazing therapy breakthrough session. THank you Spaceman and everyone who did the outstanding light and music for the night!!!
