Very disappointed, half the band, Dave Ball cancelled but the show went on.. just do the right thing, bow out and come back later when the band is a hundred percent

What a great show. The Masonic’s acoustics are so good and was the band’s sound. It was like a multimedia show - super fun and friendly crowd, too. Marc was charming! So glad I went.

Pros: The highlight was definitely the crowd. Enthusiatic & gorgeous. Thought I was overdressed coming from work, business casual. Wrong. Everyone was in their finest goth + glam, truly head-turning. Enough killer fashion originality to fill a coffee table book + couple galleries. Fantastic set: No opener, an hour+ of newer tracks, 1/2hr intermission, then the entire Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret album. Finished with the brilliant 12" mix of Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go. The Masonic is a fantastic space with great acoustics & not a bad seat view-wise. (Warning: if you're seated downstairs for an entire show, the padded folding chairs will kill your back.) Staff is helpful & friendly, definitely a good sign. That kind of energy starts at the top. Cons: When Marc had his mic in front of his mouth, the audio was great. But otherwise the vocals were lost or muffled, which took me out of the moment. No one wants to hear me sing, myself included.

I wasn’t thrilled with the song selection in the first part when nonstop erotic cabaret was supposed to be the focus. I would have started with that album and done bonus tracks at the end, but better ones. Finally, I was disappointed that it wasn’t announced in advance that Dave Ball wouldn’t be there. Without Dave Ball, it’s a Marc Almond solo show—not Soft Cell as promised.

The checking in process through security was a breeze. The bar was well staffed. The food was surprisingly tasty. And our seats were pretty darn comfortable. My only complaint is that ushers didn't control the crowd when they rushed to the stage. I had to ask other concert goers to get out of my space more than once. That was unpleasant.

Walked out after an hour. Advertised as Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret and only played songs off the new album. Boo.

The Softcell band was fantastic despite Dave Ball not being able to make it The singers and Marc Almond sounded great and thanks for a wonderful evening

Marc’s voice is impeccable hasn’t missed a beat. The sound at youtube arena is maybe the best in the US.

Definitely not resting on their laurels and being an oldies only act. First half of the show was mostly new stuff and it was as good as any new music out there. Second half of the show blew the roof off the venue with an over top visit to what made the 80s awesome. Marc was engaging and excited for the show and it made the show that much better. He voice is still amazing. This was a full on production with amazing lights, media and back up singers.

1st Act was just ok with some obscure and newer songs. Nothing to write about. 2nd Act was fantastic -- they played the entire original album in order. Should have ended it right there. Encore was anticlimactic after rocking the house with the Non-stop Erotic Cabaret. They plugged their new song in the which was recorded with the Pet Shop Boys -- not so good. Overall, Mark Almond brought the energy and performed better than I thought he would. Musicians and background singers were very good.

Am a huge fan of the band but wasn’t sure how good Marc’s incredible voice would be live at 65. I was blown away from start to finish. Sad Dave Ball was I’ll but INCREDIBLE that the show went ahead. Huge credit to all involved for making it happen. It was worth every second and can’t remember walking away from a gig for years feeling so satisfied and GRATEFUL that is wasn’t cancelled. Love you mr Marc Almond & Dave Ball huge respect and thanks you did your hard core fans proud!

I loved the format with first half focused on their new album with a splattering of older songs. The second half was all the non-stop erotic cabaret album. Brilliant

40 years from the first time we saw Soft Cell and Mark is still a brilliant singer, performer and story teller! The supporting cast of singers and musicians were top notch. We really enjoyed the show but have to criticize the 30 minute break in the middle of the performance. What happened? Did the concession sales need a boost in order to make up low ticket sales? We also felt that the first half of the show lacked credible hits everyone has known and loved for all these years. The song line-up improved tremendously in the second half but many of Soft Cell’s most beloved tracks were conspicuously missing. It’s Only A Mugs Game was on constant rotation on KROQ in the ‘80’s. How do you skip this gem? Insecure Me, What and Down in the Subway were also sadly missing. The inclusion of a few of those overlooked songs could have been the difference between a throw-away first half and a well balanced show which represented all eras Soft Cell’s existence.

The bass was really loud!!!Also,let the audience know theres going to be an intermission.,but that was really nice.The bathrooms were hard to find.Also,before the show you could have an announcement like "The staff of the Mag appreciate your attendence and please approach us with any concerns"

One of the great bands of the 1980's and they did not disappoint. Parking was easy, libations were easy to purchase, seating was comfortable. The only complaint is the instruments were so loud it was hard to hear the vocalists. I do not know if this was due to sound system used or what.
