I really like the venue The Canyon. The band was good but the leader singer was a bit sketchy. It's like he didn't get the memo that this was supposed to be a Tom Petty cover band. He kept making changes that didn't make the songs any better. I didn't particularly care for his voice either. The band was good though.
Not only did So Petty play Tom Petty's most loved and popular songs, they also played some of the more obscure songs off older albums that only a true Tom Petty fan would know. Kudos to the members for taking on such a monumental task. Tom Petty's music may be simple to play musically but to put the feeling into the songs like Mr Petty takes true believers!
In this venue So Petty sounded better than Tom Petty at the Forum. My only complaint would be that they claimed to have played elsewhere for 3 hours and ended up giving us only two.
