    Missed the mark

    by A. D. on 11/11/19Coca-Cola Roxy - Atlanta

What a disappointing show! The theater closed off the entire balcony to this show because the dance company asked them to do so. We were taking younger children and had purposely bought front row balcony seats for this event so they would be able to see. Instead we were packed into low seats where their views were very limited. Secondly, the dancing was very boring, the choreography tired and there was no creativity or wow moments. The screen missed the chance to add to the scenes and instead was very distracting. Each scene seemed like the same dance over and over again in front of different visual with different lighting colors. It was a very boring production in every way. We have been to many modern dance performances as it is one of our favorite forms of theater. This was the worst performance we have ever seen. There was so much potential here to develop a great story with beautiful movement and interesting effects but sadly, this show fell short every step of the way.

    Disappointed

    by P. B. on 11/5/19

The only way to see this show at the venue in NYC was to stand in the back (unbanked seats!) or through the screen of everyone’s cell phones that were being held up to film the event. What a distraction. What a waste of a gorgeous dancer and what seemed to be interesting choreography. The ‘dance’ was definitely overshadowed by the huge backdrop of imagery and kept mostly to within the linear front of the stage. I left frustrated and disappointed.
