First off, my wife is a GnR fan but really wasn't familiar with Slash's solo stuff, and was a little worried when I told her that Slash probably wouldn't play any GnR stuff. That's important to point out because she left the show saying it's the best concert she's ever been to, and she's gone to a lot!
I had really high expectations, being a big fan and familiar with all their music, and the show was even better than I expected. There was not a dull moment in it. The whole band did a phenomenal performance. Slash gets enough compliments and we all know he's awesome. Todd Damnit Kearns is an awesome entertainer, his bass is solid, his vocals are powerful, and he knows how to command the crowd to be engaged and entertained. I see Myles get a bad rap on some forums being compared to Axl, which is ABSURD because Axl lost his voice. Myles on the other hand sounded better than ever! I've heard all of their live albums, watched the released live videos, and this show topped them all. Even the best singers struggle keeping their voice up on tour, but Myles was at the top of his game and sounded awesome. Brent Fitz, awesome sold drumming. Frank Sidoris, it's tough being the other guitarist in a band with Slash, and this guy never gets the credit he deserves. He doesn't get a gig playing guitar with Slash by being an afterthought rhythm guitar player. He sounded great, played, great, and did an awesome job backing up Slash and making it all sound that much better for us. I can't say enough good things about this show. I can't wait to see them again.
