"To be honest my vibe gets killed the most when I'm concentrating too much on what is around me and thinking too much about it all," Moore states. "I have the most fun when I let my inhibitions check out, right at that point things just start to happen."
It started to go well for Sonny when he filtered out the noise and distraction of his world as a solo artist and started mining the ephemeral moments he had been sharing with friends in clubs and parties across the city he calls home since his mid-teen years. The restless, urgent and kaleidoscopic sounds of EDM and bass music had spoken to him for the best part of a decade, one day he just started talking back.
"Making music is the same as DJing," he offers. "You continue along the path that leaves you most inspired. When you think too much you put limits on what is possible, the best parts are always instinctual rather than something too considered or planned out."
Great venue, great sound, better musicians. I would see this again for sure.
From the beginning to the end was amazing. I have no other words to describe this. I can't wait for the next.
Zedd, Porter Robinson, and then Skrillex... it was an unbeatable lineup! The House of Blues is a very nice setup but lacks and means of a quality light show. This place doesn't see many electronic performances so it isn't equipped for that. Which is too bad because I love the arrangement and balcony seating, it has a grande scale about it but still the intimacy you look for in a small venue. The crowd that this place attracted however was less than desirable... to say the least. Having just come from EDC Vegas however I'm a bit biased. But never before have i seen a crowd at any other venue be so aggressive, immature, and most importantly disrespectful. I always enjoy being in the midst of any crowd and getting close to the performer. This was the first time i ever had to literally remove myself from the angry mosh pit that was the majority of the center crowd. I can deal with bumping and a bit of shoving, i understand what it is to be in an energetic crowd with great loud music, and it's something i typically enjoy, but these kids were doing it the wrong way and not respecting those around them. However, nothing was able to distract me from what was an absolutely stunning performance by three extremely talented artists. If you do decide to see a show here, i would recommend buying a balcony seat and removing yourself from those who can't control themselves. And of course don't hesitate to see Zedd, Porter Robinson, or Skrillex at ANY venue!
Skrillex is a musical genius. His show (even those who opened for him) was AMAZING! The crowd was great, fantastic vibe going the entire time, and overall, it was one of the bets concerts I have ever been to.
The concert was amazing with Porter Robinson, Zedd , Knight Riders (?) and Skrillex to top it off. Hope Skrillex comes back to New Jersey or New York area.
Have been to many edm concert...dude killed it so hard...can't wait till he's back in the Philly area
Great concert.. fans pushed too much but overal it was good
This was the best night of my life Everything was just off the hook Skrillex was crazy. I didn't know there was other djs playing til i got there and that didn't matter because they all rocked my world haha
Great music, good visual show, plenty of dancing and jumping around. Definitely one of my favorites. So great!!
The energy was off the charts! Wish i could attend a show like this every weekend!
He was AMAZING... wish he could have played longer
With great anticipation and after securing my tickets two months in advance, I definitely had high hopes for this concert and Skrillex not only met but exceeded my expectations. The House of Blues venue was by far the chillest scene in terms of security. Epic song choices for the set with a fresh crowd. Many electroheads I spoke with have been bumping around to concerts and festivals all summer, enjoying every opportunity to dance, drink, drug holiday, but above all dubstep and drum&bass. It made for a great atmosphere of happiness in widespread common interest. Overall, a huge summer dance party. I do not think anyone left disappointed.
Awesome concert, crazy crowd. Probably the best show i've ever been to.
Porter Robinson and Skrillex had the crowd in the palms of their hands. The atmosphere was ridiculous. So much positive energy in the crowd. The price of bottled water wasn't even bad compared to other places ($2.00) Advice: Bring water, gatorade, anything to keep you hydrated. It's hot!
The music was great and the vibe was good loved it!
I had no idea who Skrillex was until I saw Deadmau5 & he opened for him. I was blown-away. The only way I can describe Skrillex to someone who has never heard his rancid, outrageous, insanely unique sound is "the heavy metal of dubstep". He was so into his music & put on a great show. You can tell he truly loves, appreciates & slaves over his music.
The show was outstanding, each performer was just as good or better than the last with Skrillex killing it at the end. Caution to those going though the show was more than 5 hours long so you need to pace the raging so you can still move by the end.
First DJ type of show I have ever been to and will definitely see Skrillex and others again. Energetic crowd and nonstop fun. Opening acts were excellent as well.
Skrillex is beyond amazing!! the site is fantastic. Only recommendation put gigantic fans on the stage blowing fresh air onto the people in the front or every half an hour bring out a fire hose to cool down the crowd. Bring skrillex back and you will find me there.
This was the best show of my life. High energy, he kept the crowd going too. The venue was a little small but overall amazing show
