About

"To be honest my vibe gets killed the most when I'm concentrating too much on what is around me and thinking too much about it all," Moore states. "I have the most fun when I let my inhibitions check out, right at that point things just start to happen."

It started to go well for Sonny when he filtered out the noise and distraction of his world as a solo artist and started mining the ephemeral moments he had been sharing with friends in clubs and parties across the city he calls home since his mid-teen years. The restless, urgent and kaleidoscopic sounds of EDM and bass music had spoken to him for the best part of a decade, one day he just started talking back.

"Making music is the same as DJing," he offers. "You continue along the path that leaves you most inspired. When you think too much you put limits on what is possible, the best parts are always instinctual rather than something too considered or planned out."

  • Skrillex was awesome

Skrillex put in a great show esp for being in basically one spot the entire time. He brought a lot of energy to his music as well. The only bad part was waiting for him to come on since the doors opened at 6 and he didn't go on until midnight. The opening acts were good but not as good as him. The light show involved and corresponding videos on the screen were pretty cool too-def not recommended if u have a seizure disorder. My ears are still ringing a bit from the beats. Overall he was awesome-great performer.

  • One of the best times of my life!

by MerithGamery on 9/14/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish the show was amazing. It went from bare bones at the start, but after each set it kept building itself up until Skrillex set the venue on fire! I've never been to a show where so many people were going nuts and didn't slow down a beat when the DJ's blasted their mixes. The atmosphere, crowd, lights, and definitely the artists were all in top form. By far the best show I've been to at beautiful Red Rocks!!!

This was my first ever rave with a huge crowd, of course the first time for everything is the best. Am i wrong?!?! But i could not have asked to go to a better show than this one at the Pageant. I only wish he would come back and do another show there! Skrillex absolutely killed it and then went to work on you. I was blown away. Skrillex, if you ever read this, let me tell you that you gave me an incredible first experience for my first rave!:)

  • Pleasantly Surprised

Being in my 30s and all that that entails, I was expecting a night of unruly teenagers and a constant headache throughout the evening. But my wife wanted to go, and thank God she did. Openers were neither here nor there, Zedd was pretty cool, but then this kid Skrillex came on stage and I knew at that moment that I had made the right decision. Being an old Dj myself (wax, not this laptop stuff) I'm a pretty tough critic when it comes to new school Djs but Skrillex changed all that for me. From the mind blowing visuals, to the fireworks, to the steady handling and understanding of the crowd through perfect musical selection, Skrillex was not only captivating he was Awe inspiring. I would highly recommend this show to anyone, even if you don't like the genre. Of course Red Rocks gives any artist an advantage, but I can't wait for next year. Thank you Skrillex. Best show I've been to in years!!!

Skrillex killed it! The fireworks were a great touch, to his already amazing stage performance and control. Easily in the top 5 best concerts ever.

  • Skrillex = awsome

by DannyBxSquared on 8/20/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen about 10+ concerts this summer season. Still have a few to go (including LP and Gotye) but it's safe to say nothing is going to top this show!!!!! Saw Kascade and Justice the previous week at Red Rocks, both were great. But this show blew my mind!!!! If it's possible, it was even better than Deadmau5 last year. When I say it was all good...... I mean it!!! It was all great!!! Awesome visuals, eardrum blowing bass, fireworks, you name it!!! Myself and all my friends, still raving about how good that show was. Not even a option.... if Skrillex comes around again, I'm going again. A couple of the opening acts were meh. However, Zedd was also great as usual. Danced my legs off!!!

The evening started out perfectly. I was with my best friends, and we were all a few weeks away from going our seperate ways for college. We waited in line for what seemed like hours, the anticipation for what we all thought was going to be an unforgettable night was insane. As we joked with other people in the line and took pictures of each other, we discussed what songs we hoped would be performed. When we arrived, we made claim on the first available seats we could find, and were pleasantly surprised with how good the seats were. From there we met up with some other friends of ours and started dancing, getting in the mood for the night. The opening acts were great, warming us up for the seven hours of dancing we would do and as the sun went down, the lights grew brighter and the bass grew louder. Soon everyone was dancing, moving in a way that most would only do when Dubstep was the music in question. Soon, a few of my friends and I made our way down to the third row, and as we watched the sweat drip off of Zedd's face, our excitement grew. We danced until our legs shook, and our bodies ached all over, begging for a break. And Skrillex hadn't even made the legendary appearance that he was about to make. As Zedd left the stage, what looked like a giant spaceship was revealed and a countdown clock went up, you could feel the tension building up as everyone waited for the man that we had all come to see. As the clock reached 10 seconds, Skrillex appeared and began to perform his iconic songs as a delightfully creepy slideshow played in the back along with the best lightshow I have ever seen. As the night went on we were showered with streamers, confetti and lights, all spreading across the sky at Red Rocks. I was dehydrated, and in more pain than I was after I ran the 6 mile Bolder Boulder, but I never once stopped dancing, and singing along to the lyrics of some of my favorite songs. From Kyoto to Bangerang, and from Cinema to Breakn' a Sweat, the crowd never once stopped moving, the energy level was unlike anything I had ever experienced. The night ended much too soon, but ended as perfectly as it began. For me, and I know for my friends, there was no better way to go our seperate ways and to leave Colorado than spending one unbelievably fun evening at one of our favorite places, listening to Skrillex do what he does best, dropping it hard.

  • Skrillex @ Red Rocks ~ ToP show of the year!

by comfeline on 8/14/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

SOLD OUT: A good crowd, good weather, and tight tunes most certainly can lend to the enjoyment of an Killer show. This night was over the top fun! Everyone dancing & smiling and having a great time. The energy at Red Rocks was unbelievably intense. Lighting cues were all on time, pyrotechnics gave everyone a reason to reach for the sky as if the beats were not enough. At times we all broke out singing, a number of all became one. It was the most beautiful night with all the most beautiful people in attendance. If you missed this show, Skrillex's first headline post Global Dance Festival '11 - you missed the ToP show of the year. We will all be back!

Quite possibly the best show I've seen. The lights, confetti, and fireworks were a perfect combination to make this show unforgettable. I've had a Skrillex hangover for the past three days, have to get back soon!
