Amazing Olympic and National Champion skaters!

by skatefan1234 on 5/6/14BGSU Ice Arena - Bowling Green

Skate for Hope was an absolutely wonderful show. The skaters from the local skating club were adorable and there was much talent to showcase. And, the highlight of the evening, the Olympic and National champion skaters, were unbelievable! They skated an awesome performance, with all of the spins, twists, and flips that we just saw on the Olympics. They put their hearts and souls into this performance, all for a great cause. We had general admission seats and in our ice arena we were just a few rows back from the ice, so we saw it nice and up close. I will be coming back every year

    great show!

by sunshinebuell on 6/19/13Nationwide Arena - Columbus

I got tickets to this event as a Mother's Day gift to my Grandma, who LOVES figure skating. We enjoyed all of the skaters from the Olympic winners to the smallest skaters who looked to be about 4 years old...SO cute! We were impressed with the local talent and enjoyed the inspirational cancer research info and stories from cancer survivors as well. Overall, great time and I would go again, but pick different seats. The seating chart online showed the entire arena being used for the show. I thought we had center seats but we ended up close to curtain skaters came out of and they only used 3/4 arena to skate on. Luckily during their performances the skaters frequently came in front of our seats so it wasn't too bad. I didn't see anywhere online about how long the show was prior to going and it ended up being about 3 hours. Also I wish the venue had more food to offer for an event that is 5:00-8:00p.

Absolutely fantastic show! We were in the lower bowl and say what are certainly to be future Olympians performing for a wonderful cause. Tickets were only $17 and the whole experience couldn't have been better.

What a Way to Contribute to Cancer!

by wwwwwwoooooooowwww on 6/17/13Nationwide Arena - Columbus

I didn't know what to expect as this was the first time I had attended "Skate for Hope". I had only seen one ice show previously. The seats weren't that great the first time, at this event we were in the front row!! It was touching to see the youngsters new to skating and to see the children who had earned so much to donate to their fight against cancer. Though, it would have been a disappointment if the champions of the ice were not there. It was a wonderful event and I would not hesitate to attend again.

    Skate for Hope was inspiring!

by nashvilledancer on 6/18/12Nationwide Arena - Columbus

If you didn't make it to Skate for Hope 2012, plan to attend the 2013, 10th anniversary show in Columbus, Ohio. My friend who attended with me remarked that this wasn't your typical Disney on Ice type show--this was Olympic-level skaters. U.S. Champions Ashley Wagner and Jeremy Abbott (a 2010 Olympian) donated their time and talents to honor those fighting and surviving breast cancer, along with silver medalists Adam Rippon and Mary Beth Marley/Rockne Brubaker, and Canadian bronze medalist ice dancers Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier. Every other number in the program was skated by groups of young skaters who earned the right to skate in the show by obtaining donations for Breast Cancer research. Survivors in the audience were honored by receiving a pink rose from their skaters. Female fans screamed when the golden-curled Adam Rippon landed his "Rippon triple lutz" right in front of them.

THE EVENT WAS NOT AS ENTERTAINING AS LAST YEAR. DID NOT HAVE WELL KNOWN GUESTS. WAS MORE EXCITING WHEN JOHNNY WEIR WAS THERE. WE HAVE GONE TO ALL SHOWS - EVERY YEAR. THE ONES WITH MORE WELL KNOWN SKATERS WAS BETTER. MISSED SEEING RYAN BRADLEY.
