    Always fun!

by SkipperTC on 4/1/13Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand Oaks

I've seen the "Sisters" several times... the original, the Christmas version and now the Easter program. It's always a fun evening. I know there is some overlap between the shows as far as the 'routine', but that's OK,- it's always funny. And the improv that the Sister does is priceless.

    Flashback to 1960

by mktgmaven on 3/26/13New Century Theatre - Minneapolis

If you were taught by nuns, you will not only feel like you're 10 years old again but you will also feel like you're part of a family reunion. The audience related to each other in a strangely but very amusing familial way. The occasional Lutheran spouse was probably a little bit in shock and I can very well imagine the conversations that took place after the play. Really? If you weren't taught by nuns, prepare to be educated - part guffaw and part jaw dropping - and to understand your Catholic raised friends/spouses like you never have before. Hilarious!

    Sister's Easter Catechism

by Stillsnickering on 3/25/13New Century Theatre - Minneapolis

Really entertaining AND educational. Refresher on some important aspects of the Catholic faith as well as some "trivia." Enjoyed the reality that was classroom protocol and decorum of my childhood. Unfortunate that some of those standards aren't still expected today.

    Thanks for the Memories

by Nanook63 on 3/25/13New Century Theatre - Minneapolis

Sister was absolutely hilarious! We saw Sister's Christmas catechism, so we knew the Easter play would probably be as good, and it was. We especially liked the Q and A in the second half.

    Sister's Easter Cathecism

by Joey2012 on 3/22/13New Century Theatre - Minneapolis

If you are a catholic going to this, you will probably be more entertained by it, but since I was a protestant going to this, I didn't get alot of the humor or comments. For those of you who had a nun as a teacher, you will love it.

    Sister's Catechism not funny

by Egg543 on 3/18/13New Century Theatre - Minneapolis

Ugh, this performance was terrible! We tried to participate to make it funnier but it was painful to sit through. Can't believe we spent $175 (for four) to attend this lame performance.

    Easter Catechism was hysterical

by Goomadda on 3/5/13Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Denise Fennell worked her audience into the show with such ease. I was very impressed with her knowledge of the Catholic Religion. GREAT SHOW!

    Yes Sister

by theatergranny on 3/1/13New Century Theatre - Minneapolis

I believe I have seen every Catechism show she has done and this one did not disappoint. If you get the chance, by all means, DO go, you won't be disappointed. Don't be late and don't talk in "class".

    this actess is great

by missesbrown on 4/16/11Gem Theatre - Detroit

Great fun. She made us laugh for two hours and she does it without being crude or offensive. There was a woman in the audience who wanted attention and was a monumental pain."Sister" handled her expertly, getting her to stop her nonsence and making us laugh at the same time.I will continue to use parts of this wonderful creation as I teach Religious Ed. to sixth graders.Thank you for this production.

    Sisters Easter Chatechism

by Ptabillsfn on 4/12/11Smith Theatre - Buffalo

The show was wonderful and very funny. My only problem was that Maripat Donovan appeared in all the promo photos and it was a surprise that she was not in the show. The other actress was also good, but I would have liked to know beforehand.

The first act was fair. The second act seemed like a "fill in".....the question and answer period was stupid.... Although the actress was aware of Catholic faith........she was wrong in some of her answers.... some audience members were very rude.

I really had no idea what to expect. I took my 14 and 13 year old who happen to attend catholic school here in the city of Buffalo. Although the audience was older, all three of us laughed so hard at the show and the audience participation. We were so happy when we left that night and talked about it for the next 3 days!

    by select64 on 4/8/11Smith Theatre - Buffalo

If you went to Catholic school in the 50s and 60s you'll relate and find it very funny. I thought the Christmas one was even funnier. The audience participation was great . Too bad the nuns weren't really like that back in grammar school maybe I'd still be a devout Catholic.

Never knew religion class could be so much fun!

by catholicschoolgirl on 4/8/11Smith Theatre - Buffalo

Sister was hysterical!! I felt like I was back in school again, except now I was having fun! I would highly recommend this to anyone who has ever attended a catholic grammar or high school!! Kept us laughing the entire time!
