Side by Side - The singers were the best!

by Nanciekitten on 5/16/11Signature Theatre - Arlington

The singers did a fabulous job of acting and singing. The performances of these well-known songs were so much better than past performances by other singers. The performers were able to keep the audience thoroughly engaged and entertained. There was not a dull moment. We laughed, we cried, and we felt every emotion as the actors sang with such feeling and expression.

    Side BY Side

Matthew Scott was energetic, delightful and vocally gifted as he played between and with the two ladies. As a company or soloists, the three singers delighted me and my wife, not only with their excellent voices, but with their obvious affinity for the emotional, humorous, and farcical intent of Sondheim's lyrics. Five stars are not enough.

Excellent production on early works by Sondheim. Can't wait to see it again.

    Sondheim Soars at Arena

    by Cyclist2 on 4/28/11Signature Theatre - Arlington

I caught the opening preview performance of Side by Side by Sondheim. I enjoyed every moment of up. Each of the 3 singers have great voices and can dance as well! I had recently seen Company in NYC with the NY Phil. The Signature show was much more intimate but equally thrilling. I'll be seeing Follies at the KC, and it will be interesting to compare the performances of the songs that are common to both productions. Bottom line: see this show!
