by aj8114 on 7/29/11Webster Hall - New YorkThe Webster Hall website advertised doors at 7, first act at 8, Oh Land at 9 and Sia at 10. We got there at 8:30, planning to see all of Oh Land, but she was already halfway thru the set! I was sad to miss half of Oh Land, but the 4 songs I saw were great. Sia was fun and silly while interacting with the crowd. Her voice is AMAZING, but her performance is kind of boring, she literally stands there and sings into the mic, doesn't move or do anything expressive while singing. Actually, she seemed to be a little "over it".

My advice is to wear comfortable shoes, and get there early if you want to be in the front. I would definitely do it all over again, just to see Sia perform.

I don't know if this was a matter of the venue, the sound mixing or what, but I think she translated really poorly at Webster Hall. Her interactions with the audience were GREAT and she has such a cute personality which I had not known before. But musically, I found a lot of it difficult to listen to. Her kick drum was louder than her voice (not okay for a VOCALIST), the bass was painful, the room was crowded and way too hot, stuffy and smelly.
