Shopkins Live! is an utter delight. My daughter— and all of the children around us — were engaged and enthralled from start to finish. The show is very well done, colorful and high energy with something for everyone: music, hip hop, ballet, a sweet story and lovable characters. The actor-singers do a great job, and the atmosphere & vibe generated by the production is warm and festive. My daughter proclaimed it her favorite show ever & she wants to see it again next time it comes to town.
First let me say that I am not a huge fan of the Shopkins toys. With that being said I know this is for the kids and all but really a Luigi type guy wheeling around a French baguette and talking for this inanimate object in some sort of French accent. Terrible. At least the donut, lipstick and popcorn had people that stayed hidden behind the characters. The best part of the show were the couple of dance numbers that were either black light driven or hip hoppy type. The 5-6 girls that played the so-called Shopkin Girls were trying way to hard to be teenagers and it was all just wrong. When my daughter started to ask if it could be all done now I know I wasn't the only person thinking how bad it was. A waste of 2 hours in a car. If you think your kids can't wait to see this, they can, just go buy them some Shopkins and you'll save your time, money ($5 for a bottle of water and $4 for a bag of shareable m&m's) and your sanity. I knew the mom's I saw buying big cups of beer were doing it to soften the pain they were about to go through in the second act. Stuck to known theatre it's safer. Get your kids into musicals like Annie, Wicked and any of the other great shows that are in Boston or come through as a tour.
Our 6 and 4 year old both loved the show. It was very cute and we enjoyed the Shoppies. We were dissatisfied with the venue (The Orpheum). It was really outdated and it smelled like urine. Definitely will never see another show there again.
My 4 year old loved the characters and the music. We will defiantly check out another show like it.
My granddaughter loved the show!!! It was really cute!
I went with my 6 year old daughter and not only did she enjoy it but I did as well. The songs are very catchy and I found myself moving along with the music in my seat. My daughter had so much fun and laughed so much, it was a great time and we will definitely be going again if they come near us in the future!! Thank you Shopkins!!!
Awful!!! Boring, off key and fell flat, no energy!
My daughter became interested in Shopkins at 5 years old. Now that she's almost 8, she has moved past them but still wanted to go to the show for something to do. Well, the show was awesome. Very entertaining even I enjoyed the show! Little girls and boys were dancing along in the audience, it was adorable seeing them enjoy the show too.
This show is simply BAD! At intermission even the kids wanted to leave.
