by ozs2lbs on 3/20/10Grand Casino Mille Lacs Event Center - Onamia

great show- better then i expected- i am a die hard waylon fan- i enjoyed listening to his son recreate his legendary music- a tribute concert done by shooter to waylons music along with the steel guitar would be a blast

Awesome that Waylon's Son Honors Him!!

by bkl4 on 3/20/10Grand Casino Mille Lacs Event Center - Onamia

I was fascinated by the fact that that was Waylon's son! Waylon is in my top 3 people of all time. I saw him perform twice. Shooter has his own thing going on and it was great! The crowd loved it. There was country, country rock, heavy rock, a nice variety. Didn't know what was coming next. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars, is that I thought that more of Waylon Jennings hits would have been played. Overall it was well worth seeing Shooter and his band.

    very disappointing

by Bshmn56 on 3/20/10Grand Casino Mille Lacs Event Center - Onamia

This concert event was supposed to be a tribute to the late Waylon Jennings by his son Shooter, hence the title "Waylon Forever". It was very disappointing! Shooter played about 4 songs by his father, of which maybe 2 were a fairly close repesentation, but with more of a heavy rock flavor...very loud! Shooter has a good band if you into heavy rock and "loud punk rock" music. The overall concert was about Shooter, not Waylon!! To say the least, I thought it was very misleading to the public in advertising a Waylon tribute show. I believe I share this opinion with many Waylon fans, as I watched people leave during the event, disappointed and not intending to come back. I am sure Shooter has a large fan base, but if you are expecting Waylons music, consider yourself warned! Waylon Forever? The term "Tribute" does not apply here at all! Very deceiving way to market a concert!

    Shooter was a let-down

by countrymom23 on 3/20/10Grand Casino Mille Lacs Event Center - Onamia

We saw Shooter Jennings at a local casino. He played less than an hour and we recognized a half of a dozen songs by Waylon. The rest? Who knows! This was a "Tribute to Waylon Jennings" concert. Then came back on stage for another 1/2 hour and pllayed his music which sounded much more pop-rock than country.

It wasn't what i thought it was going to be. i thought that it was a tribute to his father where he plays all his fathers songs. ex. mommas dont let your babys grow up to be cowboys, are you sure hank done it this way ect.

by Doctropolis on 3/20/10Grand Casino Mille Lacs Event Center - Onamia

It was a great show!! Even my wife liked it and she doesn't like this kind of music. He played a wide range of songs and nailed everyone! Nice job Shooter!! I am considering going again tonight. The Dr. of Doctropolis

    AMAZING! WELL WORTH IT!

by EcoSam on 3/19/10Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater - Milwaukee

I have seen Shooter MANY times before and they always put on a great show! This show was different though - he started out playing his dad's music with his twist on it and then played some of his classics and music off his brand new album Black Ribbons which is different but amazing. Awesome show and really genuine guys!

    Shooter was fantastic

    by Sudie70 on 3/19/10Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater - Milwaukee

I was impressed by Shooter's concert last night for several reasons. I went to see him sing the Waylon Forever music and it was everything I expected with him singing an array of his father's songs from "Belle of the Ball" and of course Waylon's signature song "Don't You Think This Outlaw Bit"(done got out of hand)". He honored his Father with a great rendition of "Lonesome On'ry and Mean". After a very short break he and his band came back on stage to do a few numbers from his new cd "BLACK RIBBONS", which is a far departure from anything he's done in his recent past. He sang "Don't Feed the Animals" and "When the Light's Go Out", but I prefer the cd listened in it's entirety from start to finish. And he finished the show with his music from the last several years. He and his band did a rousing version of "Daddy's Farm" and "Busted in Baylor County". All in all the show was entertaining and fun.

not what I was expecting. It actually sounded like a bunch of guys in a garage band. When shooter was playing he had is back to the audience.

Shooter and the boys played an awesome show! For the people who were there that thought it was gonna be all him playing his dads tunes to bad. He played some , but mostly was Shooter and the band rockin out their stuff. This was my 3rd time seeing them they can really play

Third time to see these guys. They ALWAYS hang out after the show for pics and autos. Wild stage for a show and the sound was terrific.

Shooter was ok...JJ Grey was awesome

by Mobi on 10/12/09Madison Theater - Covington

Earl Greyhound took the stage first to start the night off. They were ok. JJ Grey & Mofro took the stage next and they killed it. I had never heard of them before that night and was so impressed I went out and bought all their albums. WOW. If you like cajun, blues, jazz, these guys are amazing. Shooter was good too but the sound was terrible. Couldn't hear the lyrics.

Got to the show just as he started. They played almost all the good songs I know, except Southern Comfort, which I was sad they didnt play.. New, unreleased songs were played too, and all was good. Shooter even took off his glasses, so thats the first time I saw his eyes too!

by adirondacksweety on 7/14/09STANLEY CENTER FOR THE ARTS - Utica

The show was awesome. We feel we were a part of Shooter's family since he asked Drea to marry him in Utica NY. She said yes. It was great to share in that special moment in their lives.
