    Awesome bands...awesome shows

by Anonymous on 5/6/13Historic Fourth Ward Park & The Masquerade Music Park - Atlanta

Great lineup and the massive rain was well handled. What a great experience Shaky Knees was! Hoping for better weather next year but everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves anyway.

Shaky Knees? More like Rainy Knees.

by Anonymous on 5/6/13Historic Fourth Ward Park & The Masquerade Music Park - Atlanta

By far the worst weather Georgia has ever seen in the month of May. But the festival persevered and the music went on. And audience came and enjoyed. It was cold and rainy during the whole thing. But the beer flowed, the bands jammed, the crowd danced. What more do you need? Definitely had fun and am looking forward to it next year, when hopefully it will be warm and sunny.

Jim James was incredible; Shaky Knees was terrible

by uninmpressedattendee on 5/6/13Historic Fourth Ward Park & The Masquerade Music Park - Atlanta

Yes, the rain contributed to the terrible-ness of this event. BUT even if the sun had been shining, I still would rate this event as poor. The event staff was not only unhelpful, but also unfriendly. The stage names and maps didn't even really match up. Either the designers or the coordinators or both over-complicated the naming. I wouldn't go again. And wouldn't recommend to a friend.

    great lineup but poor sound

by WalkingsackofEarth on 5/6/13Historic Fourth Ward Park & The Masquerade Music Park - Atlanta

The lineup was amazing both days. each stage kept a particular genre of music and all bands were great. the sound on the main stage was horrendous for Dr. Dog. sound also kept going in and out on the north ave. stage during oberhofer and heartless bastards. Lumineers and BOH was very good though. the walk from the main stage to the 2nd stage was very crowded.

Shaky Knees keepin' it real in the rain!

by ClemsonTigerlily on 5/6/13Historic Fourth Ward Park & The Masquerade Music Park - Atlanta

Although the grounds were muddy and the rain was pouring, the concert staff made sure the show went on (shuttles, bathrooms, drinks, food, music, EVERYTHING)! I was so impressed by the effort put in to make sure that, rain or shine, the concert happened! The line-up was loaded with obscure bands that I hadn't really heard of, but ALL of them braved the rain and rocked the HELL out. Bravo, Shaky Knees, Bravo.

    Shaky Knees Musical Festival

by Cplg on 5/6/13Historic Fourth Ward Park & The Masquerade Music Park - Atlanta

The steady downpour didn't dampen my spirit or any of the amazing performances by so many incredible bands and musicians. Loved it soaking wet, and expect that next year it will be even better! The performances were well timed and a fantastic mix of music!

    Rainy, Cold and...Fantastic!

by bekkishae on 5/6/13Historic Fourth Ward Park & The Masquerade Music Park - Atlanta

The weather was less that perfect, the conditions made it difficult to get around sometimes, but the music was great, the staff was very accomodating and I have never been so happy that I spent the extra money for VIP tickets! The Masquerade/Old 4th Ward Music Park was lovely and I am looking forward to seeing it in better weather.

Major rain was a damper on the festival. I think the organizers could have done a better job in planning for the weather and adjusting as the rain continued. Additionally, the shuttles to the parking lot were infrequent and there was not secure parking in a closer location.

    Amazing first year!

by davejl on 5/6/13Historic Fourth Ward Park & The Masquerade Music Park - Atlanta

For an inaugural festival I was very impressed with how smoothly it seemed to go. There were some sound issues on the North Ave stage, but other than that the bands sounded amazing, and despite the rain, the crowd was lively and polite. The lineup was filled with bands that I knew by name, but not much of their music, and it was a great way to get a real introduction to their stage show. Definitely recommend the show and I can't wait to see the lineup next year!

    Monsoon

by CptSkippy on 5/6/13Historic Fourth Ward Park & The Masquerade Music Park - Atlanta

Bottom line, the event should have been cancelled or rescheduled and the fact that it wasn't shows that the promoters didn't care about the fans or the bands. The weather forecasts all week long said it was suppose to rain all weekend long, they were right. It wasn't raining Sunday afternoon from 2-4pm but otherwise it was a non-stop shower. It was a hard downpour all day Saturday. The park ground were destroyed, the lawns were destroyed, countless people's shoes were destroyed.

Shaky Knees was awesome despite the monsoon!

by rbrunyon on 5/6/13Historic Fourth Ward Park & The Masquerade Music Park - Atlanta

Despite the terrible weather that probably kept a lot of people from coming out, the festival was great. I hope they continue to put this festival on each year. The conditions were not ideal this year, but who could have predicted weather that bad this late in the spring???

    Discover new music!

by blinkbomber on 5/6/13Historic Fourth Ward Park & The Masquerade Music Park - Atlanta

This festival was so much fun! There were bands I love and bands I had never heard of performing. And the general atmosphere was just relaxed and receptive. Just wish I was prepared for the rain!

Venue seemed completely unprepared to deal with the outdoor elements. Although there was a fair share of people that were able to weather the storm, a great deal of people overpaid for a music festival because they would have to risk catching pneumonia to catch the headliners.

    A Puddle of Fun...

by as5650 on 5/6/13Historic Fourth Ward Park & The Masquerade Music Park - Atlanta

Shaky Knees Festival was BY FAR the best one I have been to in Atlanta. The weather did not stop music fans from coming out, drinking, listening to their favorite bands and playing in the rain. In my opinion the line up was close to perfection. I will definitely be going back next year!

Although it rained all weekend the festival was great. The lineup was an excellent mix of artists, the event was well planned and they handled the weather as best they could.
