About

Shakira is a Latin pop singer-songwriter from Barranquilla, Colombia. After signing with Sony Music Colombia at age 13, the star made a name for herself in Latin America with Spanish-language albums like Pies Descalzos (1995) and Dónde Están los Ladrones? (1998). In 2001, Shakira made her crossover debut with her fifth album Laundry Service, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and spawned global hit singles “Whenever, Wherever” and “Underneath Your Clothes.” Throughout the 2000s, Shakira continued her crossover success with further radio smashes like “Hips Don’t Lie” featuring Wyclef Jean, the Beyoncé collaboration “Beautiful Liar” and “She Wolf.” Further LPs in Shakira’s discography include Fijación Oral, Vol. 1 (2005), Oral Fixation, Vol. 2 (2005), She Wolf (2009) and Shakira (2014). At the turn of the new decade, the singer co-wrote and recorded “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa),” the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and in 2020, she headlined the Super Bowl LIV halftime show alongside Jennifer Lopez. Shakira’s most recent studio set, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, was released in 2024.

This was definitely a great show although it started really late (compared to 8 pm shown on the ticket, it started around 9:10 pm). Her voice and the unbelievable belly dance were unbeatable! Interactions were good as some guests from the crowd were invited to go on the stage to dance with her. The costums were all perfect fit for her. Though listening to 'waka waka' thousands of times (I am a soccer fan) before, it was my first time to listen it live, and it was unforgettable - maybe it will stay in my mind for a couple of days. Really a great show and it is strongly recommended!

the long delay due 'electronics malfunction' was quickly forgotten when Shakira stepped out. she seemed as into the audience and gracious as the audience was to her. Even though I don't understand much spanish it was a great show. some audience members I could have done without but they are everywhere!

  • Shakira gives excellent show

Shakira gave a great show-her voice was consistent, the band was very good, and the dancing was great.I was amazed that she did not take any real breaks during the show.

  • It was great

by Ardi on 9/20/10Trump Taj Mahal - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

It was nice seeing her. However, they started 1 hour and half later and they did not extended the concert at least 30 minutes more bc we were waiting 1 hour and a half. She is wonderful and great energy.

  • Great concert!

From the time she made her entrance from the stands to the stage (yes, she walks through the crowd!), Shakira was a little fireball of excitement. She danced, she sang, she had fun! You will not be disappointed if you attend this concert!

The concert started over an hour late due to technical problems and unfortunately they had to cut at least two songs from the Montreal show. However, it was still a fantastic overall performance. I have been a fan for about eight years and this was my first time seeing her in concert live. She is so beautiful, positive, and energetic. Also, It is a smaller and better venue than a 20,000 seat arena. I have been going to concerts (including Woodstock) for 40 years and I only speak a little Spanish, but Shakira is one of my favorites of all time. Her philanthropy is very admirable.

  • Late, but totally worth it

by emberdragon on 9/20/10Trump Taj Mahal - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Shakira came to the show about 2 hours late at this show. Though the audience was bored enough to do the wave, and you could see that she was extremely tired when she hit the stage, she was amazing. She made a grand entrance from a side isle and then started her show. She sang all her most popular songs and introduced us to some new ones. Needless to say, she is just as beautiful in person as she is on tv. Good clean fun is what I would call it. I would defiantly recommend checking out one of shakira's concerts and see one of the most down to earth stars I have ever known of.

An amazing show over all. The sound, the effects, the songs, coreography, the movement of everything and everyone. And Shakira is a great singer, she looked beautiful and put an unforgettable show.

  • Very good performance!

by rcheing on 9/20/10Mohegan Sun Arena - UncasvilleRating: 4 out of 5

One of the best concerts I have attended. Shakira has a lot of energy and knows how to connect with her audience to deliver a hands down awesome performance. Especially her 10 minute belly dancing session during "Ojos Asi". The only reason I didn't give this concert 5 stars is because of some important performers were missing such as Alejandro Sanz during "La Tortura" and Wyclef Jean in "Hip's Don't Lie". Still, their substitutes delivered their notes on par with what Alejandro and Wyclef would have done. Overall, an excellent performance that I would definitely re-attend!

  • Shakira rocks!

by jpgringo on 9/20/10Trump Taj Mahal - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

If I had to pick the two most dynamic onstage performers I have ever seen, the answer is easy: Bruce Springsteen and Shakira. The concert was fabulous, with a great mixture of older and newer (and some brand new) songs. Most of Shaki's songs sound better live than on the recorded versions. Band has more members and sounds really tight. I especially like the violinist. Shakira looked more fit and toned than ever. Love her.

  • unforgettable night

greatest show of all the time in 2010 lucky shakira.

  • by Anonymous on 9/20/10Trump Taj Mahal - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

Show was great. Only thing stopping me from giving it 5 starts was the 2+ hr delay at the beginning. Seemed like all the kinks & troubleshooting weren't worked out beforehand. I don't know whether it was Shakira & her production crew's fault or the Taj Mahal's fault though.

  • awsome

by Linah99 on 9/20/10Trump Taj Mahal - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

She puts on a great show. It was actually really amazing. I loved it.

Great show! The sound quality was well done. The large screen above the stage was great. Love the clarity! The facility was nice but drinks were too expensive! $9 for a captain and coke is crazy!

  • Shakira was awesome

by AONyc on 9/20/10Mohegan Sun Arena - UncasvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show, varied repetoire, simply fantastic

  • Love her but....

by Elliekat on 9/20/10Trump Taj Mahal - Atlantic CityRating: 2 out of 5

...I was very much disappointed paying $150 to see her lip synch to her songs. I shouldve stayed home and listened to her albums for free. Come on Shakira, if you're gonna lip synch please don't make it too obvious. Her band on the other hand was amazing and played very well...live.

  • Better late than never

by TAD11 on 9/20/10Trump Taj Mahal - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

Show started 1 hour 40 minutes late, due to "techical difficulties". Enjoyed the opening entrance as Shakira entered in thru the crowd and she than played non-stop for one hour and fifty minutes and barely breaks a sweat. She is in fantastic shape. Sound was good, Video screen was HUGE. Good show, but thought tickets prices we're expensive. Also, thought is was a little desperate when the band came out for encore and had to pump up the crowd to urge Shakira's return. Glad I saw her, but not something I would rush back to do again.

  • Her dancing was awesome

    by Haydee617 on 9/20/10Mohegan Sun Arena - UncasvilleRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was amazing, I enjoy every minutes of it. I wished she would sing more spanish songs.

  • Hips Don't Lie

by JodiB on 9/20/10Trump Taj Mahal - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Concert was suppose to start at 8:00pm and didn't go on until 9:40pm this was discouraging. Shakira was amazing and made us forget that we waited so long. She is a really good performer and dancer !!
