About

SG Lewis In Concert

SG Lewis' slippery electro-pop distills a whole night — from dance-club euphoria to after-party introspection — into warm, hypnotic soundscapes. Finding his signature sound didn't take long for the young artist (real name Sam) from Reading, England.

He first started playing guitar in bands with friends, before he quickly took to electronic experimentation and production on his own. His love for both the haunting sounds of singer-songwriters like Bon Iver and James Blake and the infectious club beats of producers like The Neptunes and Timbaland would inspire his first creations, which he began to post on SoundCloud.

When Lewis made the move to Liverpool, where he first dipped his toes into club culture, he began his career as a DJ, eventually scoring a residency at the city's popular Chibuku. Around the same time, his original recordings were getting noticed online.

In 2014, when he posted a remix of alt-R&B singer Jessie Ware's song "You & I (Forever)," it caught the attention of Ware's label, PMR Records. They quickly signed Lewis and released his debut EP, ‘Shivers' — featuring the Pharrell-approved track "Warm" — the following year. That track also received prime placement on the HBO show ‘Ballers,' helping expose Lewis to a whole new audience across the pond.

Lewis soon became a regular on festival lineups around Europe, including Pitchfork's annual musical festival in Paris. By 2016, he was ready to take on the States, making his debut at the Coachella Music Festival and performing at sold-out shows in major cities around the U.S. That same year, he released his sophomore EP, ‘Yours.'

He's since added a number of key collaborations to his catalog, and has even been remixed by artists like rapper G-Eazy (with his song "No Less"). In 2018, he dropped a slew of singles, along with an EP trilogy — ‘Dusk, Dark, Dawn' — which weaves together disco, techno, pop, and hip-hop for infectious tracks like "Hurting," featuring AlunaGeorge. As the anticipation grows for the release of his first full-length album, Lewis continues to build his fan base online and across the U.S. and Europe on his regular tours.

    Amazing AND Wholesome

by LizNikBeth on 9/8/19Brighton Music Hall presented by Citizens Bank - Boston

The venue for SG Lewis was intimate but still had plenty of room to dance. The show itself was incredible, and the best part about it, the band was so humble about the crowd. They were so genuinely grateful for the support of their fans, and I think it was probably one of the best shows I have ever attended.

    Fantastic Experience

by A. R. on 9/8/19Brighton Music Hall presented by Citizens Bank - Boston

I have not been to a concert in quite some time so it was nice to see how easy it was to book the tickets. The venue is nice. Not too big but just the right size to have a good group of people enjoying up close. With two bars on both ends it was easy to get drinks. This was the best concert I ever went to. I loved the music and performance. Everyone was so talented and had great energy.

    Great set

Glad the opener was over to turn this place into a huge concert hall. Loved the smaller venue where the focus was the band. The diverse crowd (from 18 to retired)was singing swaying and dancing. His smile and personality drew you in and you could tell they were doing what they loved. Would see them again and the venue was perfect
