Seton Hall Pirates Women’s Basketball History

The Seton Hall Pirates women’s basketball team began to compete during the 1973-74 season. The school joined the Big East Conference in 1982, and have since claimed regular season conference championships in 1996 and 2015. Seton Hall made their first appearance in the NCAA women’s national championship tournament in 1994, advancing to the Sweet Sixteen. They returned to the tournament in 1995, reaching the second round, then secured back-to-back berths in 2015 and 2016. The women’s basketball team has been coached by Seton Hall alum Anthony Bozzella since 2013.

Seton Hall Pirates at Walsh Gymnasium

The Seton Hall University women’s basketball team hosts home games at Walsh Gymnasium, located on the South Orange, New Jersey campus. The 1,316-seat facility first opened in 1941 and has undergone several renovations, most recently in 2021. The Seton Hall men’s and women’s basketball teams shared Walsh Gymnasium until 1985, and the venue is currently occupied by the women’s basketball and volleyball teams.
