    The best house music event!

by Velislava on 10/29/13Barclays Center - Brooklyn

It was absolutely amazing, unbelievable and all the rest of superb words you can think about!I loved the lights, the fire, the water. The DJ's did such a great job with the music! And I absolutely loved how the Dj Booth was spinning around so everyone can get a view of the person playing the music!I really loved the whole conception of the event-OCEAN OF WHITE-first they "submerge" you in the water and the music is meant to warm you up,then you get deeper and the music changes to a little bit more intense one, after that you get deeper and the crowd just went crazy with Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano! And of course the BEST part of the night with Fedde Le Grand was the absolute best way to finish the event!....The light show is one of a kind!Lasers, lights changing to different colors, fire shooting up,the big screens showing you the dj up close.Where else are you going to find an event where everyone dressed in white! This is the absolute MUST if you are a real house music fan.It gives you the mix of European house music and the more intense house music tracks of the festivals!I am going back next year!

    Fell Short

by janetam on 10/29/13Barclays Center - Brooklyn

Too many restrictions, endless lines everywhere (even to get a beer), no floor access, drinks got more expensive, no Bud Light Platinum sponsorship, same DJs, no real dance performances. The crowd, too fell short, it was different from last year. I had fun regardless but felt like I didn't get my money's worth compared to last year.

    Excellent Show and Great Music!

by rdschouw on 10/29/13Barclays Center - Brooklyn

As usual the Sensation show was spectacular and very entertaining. They turned the Barclay's Center into gigantic club. The DJs were great and the crowd had clearly a great time. The dance floor was full but not too full. It was well-managed. But aware you have to come early to get access to it. Later in the evening only people were allowed every 15m in small batches. All in all an unforgettable night and definitely recommended!

Artistry and production wise, the event was phenomenal. But for the amount of money I paid, its not worth it. The drinks were overprice and some of the bartenders seems to be overwhelmed. The other staff including security were nice and courteous.

Amazing show! a little pricey and the drinks were ridiculous, but the original sets plus the atmosphere and lights were incredible!

It was not worth the money. Definitely overrated. Music was ok and the show was basic ... not worth $185. Maybe worth $75.

    Passport ?!

by AdAgr on 10/29/13Barclays Center - Brooklyn

They required passports for international citizens for entry and for alcohol - this was ridiculous because nowhere on the ticket did it say that we were supposed to bring a passport. Original drivers' licenses from our home country seemed sufficient only after some argument and talks with the managers at the entrance and at certain bars. Even though they let us enter (thus verifying our age) - upon entry the bar refused to serve as they would not believe we were 21 unless we produced American ID. Sensation is an international event and attracts alot of international crowd. The authorities concerned cannot be so restrictive as to overlook any international IDs. Ticketmaster and Barclays need to be more clear about their age verification policy.

    Not much of a "Sensation"!

by france11 on 10/19/13MGM Grand Garden Arena - Las Vegas

The music was OK but not worth the money. Was expecting more well known DJs. The drinks were VERY expensive. There wasn't much of a show either. Big stadium, not much ambiance. Disappointed...

    Sensation left me numb

by Anonymous on 10/16/13AmericanAirlines Arena - Miami

Sensation left a lot to be desired. From boring music and gimmicky décor to long lines and a lackluster crowd, Sensation left me numb, literally. It’s ironic that my feet hurt that night since I did not dance for more than 20 minutes of the 7 hours I was there. I actually stood in place most of the time, which caused horrible pressure in my feet but I really could not find it in me to force myself and dance to the music being played, more “European” like house which is not what the Miami crowd seeks. The stage at first impression looked interesting. Fireworks, water fountains, lights and a spinning DJ booth with hanging jellyfish--- pretty cool right? NO. The dancers could not dance. They were more like parading around the stage and not enhancing the entertainment. Then, there were a couple stunt guys that were lifted in the air and shooting flames or fireworks starting spinning from behind them--- sounds amazing? NO. This little act felt a bit out of place with the theme and it was so poorly executed. I would be impressed if I saw that mediocre stunt in a neighborhood theater but not at this level of production. The photos being posted online that I have come across look spectacular but what the images cannot give you is sound or make you feel the actual atmosphere. Aside from the fact that the music was monotonous, it was extremely loud. I felt like someone forgot to do a sound check because the bass was overpowering to the point that you felt like your ears may bleed, and trust me, I love bass, but this was far beyond annoying. I could hardly take a deep breath. And though white is beautiful and I can expect that perhaps at a bliss party, I just wasn’t convinced; it’s been done and it was overkill. Perhaps one had to be a bit more imaginative with their attire but some attendees were not even allowed in if their shirt had too much color… not very PLUR-like. I was not shocked when people left 20 minutes into the headliner, Fedde Le Grande’s act. It was not because he was bad, actually quite the contrary. He was good and I would have enjoyed his music earlier in the night or to open up for an even bigger DJ but by the time 1am rolled around, it seemed like most people were just over it. The only reason I stayed till 1:30am was because I was in a large group for a friend’s birthday and we had spent a lot of money on those tickets collectively. Honestly, I would have left at 10pm but I never anticipated such a disappointment. The crowd was hardly into the event either. Everyone was on the cellphones; honestly, I’ve never seen so many people on their phones in the middle of a rave. The event should have been priced at $30 and even then I would rather pay that at Space. I can only hope that this music doesn't get so mainstream that it'll just be a trend that will eventually fade out. The underground feeling of EDM is what's kept it alive for so long. Of course, there always has to be a balance but producers really have to know their audience and cater to that. Sure, Miami has a certain aura of "high-class" surrounding it (completely fake by the way and not something I'm proud of) but it does have a sexy reputation, which suited the Sensation theme but it needed to be amped up. "Ocean of White"... Needed some fish tanks with hot synchronized swimmers, or maybe not, but they could have done more. I love EDM and in no way does this failed event change my impression of the industry or will I stop attending festivals. These events are about the music and the energy from the crowd. No theatrics necessary but if you're going to have them, they better be mind blowing and fully incorporated. I personally am not crazy about Ultra because it's not 21 and over but I would have rather have been there. Take me back to TomorrowWorld. Now that was pure bliss. The music, theme, execution, crowd, simply put, EMD at its best. I expected more since both events had the same producers. Sensation… was more like an abomination.

    Disappointed

by manicmermaid on 10/15/13AmericanAirlines Arena - Miami

Show started late. No signage for specified ticket holders' entrance(s) so spent too much time in a disorganized cluster only to be re-routed three times before directed to correct entrance. The biggest dissapointment was the lack of a visual show - all advertising lead us to believe that there would be an awesome light, water, fire, dance, ocean-themed cinematic adventure and we were denied any ressemblance of the "sensational" experience we paid top dollar to enjoy. On a positive note (pun intended) the music was great and the enthusiasm and anticipation in the crowd was infectious - just never got to what we were expecting. Super choice of venue and city. Hope for more next tour.

    Super overpriced

by WillfromMiami on 10/15/13AmericanAirlines Arena - Miami

I paid $180 for this event a few months back. The first few hrs were super boring!! Until fredde le grand got on stage and killed it he did great. But besides that one hour. There was no performance just waterfall and 4 dancers. Money down the drain. I got lucky I was able to stay on the floor of the arena the whole time. But some friends got stuck in the stands and weren't able to make it to the floor area.
