The surprisingly deep vocals of a 16-year-old Scotty McCreery not only snagged him a ticket to Hollywood in the 11th season of “American Idol,” but it also earned him the top spot and a record deal with Mercury Nashville. His 2011 major label debut “Clear as Day” topped The Billboard 200 upon its release, spreading his fresh take on throwback country across the continent.
McCreery, who draws comparisons to the baritone vocals and country twang of seasoned performer Randy Travis, supported superstar Brad Paisley and The Band Perry on tour before taking off on his own string of U.S. headlining concerts. The 2012 Teen Choice Awards nominee for Choice Male Country star is moving more toward the country-pop genre with his sophomore studio set, “See You Tonight,” thanks in large part to his collaboration with producer Frank Rogers (Darius Rucker, Josh Turner). He’s also expanded into the holiday album market with 2012’s aptly-titled “Christmas with Scotty McCreery.”
WE LOVED THE SHOW, WE WERE SEATED CLOSE TO THE STAGE AND THAT WAS A NICE SURPRISE CONSIDERING WE BOUGHT GENERAL ADMISSION, SCOTTY WAS GREAT!!!!!!!! HE KEPT US ENTERTAINED THE WHOLE TIME. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE RETURNING TO HIS CONCERTS HERE IN SAN DIEGO!!!!!
This NC native is the best country performer to hit the stage since Garth Brooks. I have seen Garth several times, and even in his first SD appearance. But Scotty had the crowd going, had great chemistry with the fans, a winning smile and genuine personality. He was a livewire on the stage, and gave a full-tilt performance. Couldn't have been any better, unless he played longer than an hour, and the sun wasn't shining in our eyes over by the stage. The first half hour we could only see him in black and white, with the sunshine there by him. After that it was nice. As a grandma, it isn't often I cry listening to music, but when he pulled up a stool, had his guitarist with him, and sang Letters from Home, after an explanation why this song was special to him, I actually bawled through most of it. Touching moment. Venue: Would I go back again for another concert? At those prices and the inconvenience of the parking at the fair taking so long, and $2.00 Tuesday crowd, no. We paid $55 per seat and $12 to park (others driving in beside us were paying $10). We got no concession other than having paid for parking already. We still were sent out to the north 40 in the dirt with them to park, and it took an hour.
What a great evening! Fabulous venue and absolutely beautiful night! Scotty and his band fit right in with us here in Southern California! I saw Scotty with Brad in Vegas(January) and while he was good....@Del Mar...he was great! Very evident that he gets more and more at home on stage with every show!
He is such an amazing artist. Just wish the concert would have been a little bit longer but enjoyed every minute of it. I would definitely go watch him again and recommend the show to others!!!!

IT was great...only problem is that he only sang for an hour...when you are paying $55.00 I expect more that an hour concert. At least 90 minutes.
Scotty was just great at getting the audience involved. He was just great and had a great playlist of songs going on!

Excellent concert. Really enjoyed it. He did a great job. Huge crowds. Mix of up tempo and ballads one after the other no time wasting
Loved the music and the crowd sure did. Scotty look at the front 10 rows now and then. You always seemed to look over us. Great program, great band, great job Scotty

He was on time. He was as cute as ever and his band was awesome do. He played to the crowd and it was interesting to see the age spread in the crowd. My group was 60+ and we loved it.
We paid money to LISTEN to the artist - Scotty McCreey! NOT to have the band try to drown him out half the time. There were some songs where the band was (as they should be) background music, but too many where they played as though THEY were the reason everyone was there!!! Fortunately, McCreey has a strong voice and could be heard - even if you couldn't always distinguish the lyrics.

our first time to Del Mar and had a great time. Concert was short about 50 min. But we enjoyed every minute of it. Scotty has a great voice.
I am not a country girl, but Scotty won me over during his audition for Idol. His voice is warm and beautiful, and he himself seems to be a genuine, down-to-earth kind of guy. Watching him perform in concert on his own was great! He really gets into the music, and his sincerity is heard when he talks to the audience. We had a great time! Thank you, Scotty!
I was not that familiar with Scotty's work, but I was there for my daughter's birthday she is 9. Also my 16 year old daughter and wife were there also. The girls really enjoyed the entire event. They went crazy! I was very impressed with Scotty's performance as well as the band. All of them tore it up. I would look forward to seeing them again.
Scotty McCreery is extremely talented. Sound was good. Seat location sucked!
Scotty did a great job intertaining the audience. He sounds even better Live! he played all of current songs and some old favorites along with his American Idol songs.
Scotty has a awesome voice and the songs are beautiful but his stage presents has a lot to be desired. He needs to learn to move about the stage and talk to his audience like his talking to a friend. The girls sure do love him
