SCORPIONS IN CONCERT:

German band Scorpions has been electrifying audiences since the early '70s with their signature hard-rocking melodic metal and power ballads. With the 2010 release of their 17th studio album Sting in the Tail, the band proved that age had far but mellowed them, kicking off another high-energy tour that has fans eagerly awaiting the chance to see them in 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"What a blistering, incredible and energetic concert the Scorpions put on tonight at American Airlines Center. Wailing guitar riffs and solos, thundering rhythms, and of course Klaus Meine's signature, crystal clear, high tenor voice soaring across the arena…Tonight the teenage boy in me returned for one last concert with my favorite band ever."

"The Scorps sounded AWESOME and the energy was AWESOME. They were having so much fun on stage and it showed…They were very interactive with their fans by throwing guitar picks and drumsticks whenever they had the chance!"

"This band still sounds amazing, and their body of work is awesome…They put on a great show as always and I would love to see them again!"

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Scorpions are one of the most successful European bands in music history, having sold over 100 million albums worldwide. Formed in 1969, their early hard rock albums gained attention in Europe and Japan, but it wasn’t until they dropped more radio-friendly albums like 1982's Blackout and 1984's Love At First Sting that they found international fame. Over the years the band has developed a reputation for being an outstanding live act, with Klaus Meine delivering some of the most pitch-perfect live vocals in the history of rock.

Still rockin' after all these years. The show was great. Wish they would play all night long! Wish I could go to every show on the tour! The Scorpions will be truly missed but their music lives on forever! Keep rockin' Scorps!

  • So so show

by njrocker2009 on 6/19/10PNC Bank Arts Center - HolmdelRating: 3 out of 5

Overall the show was OK but I've seen them better. Klaus had nearly no voice and even said so during the show. The music was awesome though and I like that PNC added the video screens to the rotunda. That made my lawn seat that much better. I was surprised at Cinderella as the opening band - I had no idea they were still around. They were also OK but I wouldn't go out of my way to see them again. Klaus said he did not want to cancel this show but I would have preferred a postponement if he would have sounded better. I hope they come around again but supposedly this is their farewell tour. I've heard that from other bands before though (and certain NBA and NFL players!) who claimed 'retirement' :) Come back and play the Beacon again!

well we got the short end of the stick at pnc. the singer came out and boo hooed about how sick he was so they cut the show early and didnt do alot of there biggest hits. I would of rather had the show postponed or even cancled then what i got last night

  • Scorps rocked hard

by April65 on 6/19/10PNC Bank Arts Center - HolmdelRating: 5 out of 5

For our wedding anniversary I bought Scorpion tickets for my husband. He had never seen them live and I knew he would love them. First all Holmdel was a perfect place for the concert. We arrived a bit late and picked up our tickets at the box office without any problems and our seats were amazing. While Klaus had some technical difficulty with his mic and later his voice - he managed to sing an entire set with the flu! I thought he might pass out he looked so sick and he did explain to the audience that he did not want to let us down, he wanted to sing from his heart but his voice was gone and he did not want to cancel the show. The whole band played passionately. Thank you Scorpions for sharing a wonderful night and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the music over the years!

  • please say it aint so

just bought pre-sale tics for Scorps here in Sacramento this will be the 25th time seeing my favorite band. One year I believe it was 1983 the year of the US festival I saw them five times that year. Hands down they are the best live performance you will ever have the chance to see, many bands need the studio to reproduce there sound not my boys. I have scene 100's of shows from following the dead around for awhile to Disturbed and even Kenny G. While I have scene individual dhows that would rank higher such as Pink Floyd the Wall tour and AC/DC 2 months before Bon left us none can match the durability and consistency of the best live band ever THE SCORPIONS lets all hope this truly is not a farewell because nothing can replace the memories over time of my band Mathis rules!!!!!!

  • Pure greatness

I saw the Scorpions at the last Texas Jam, Monsters of rock tour in 1988. The Scorpions were the next to the last band. Van Halen finished and Sammy Hagar lost his voice, so they couldn't play a whole set. Thank God because the Scorpions wore me out! Most people stood on top of their seats the whole time. They rocked! One of the best bands I've ever seen, and trust me, I've seen most. Didn't want to miss them on this "farewell tour." In case it really is the last time they tour.

  • the scorpions

i have to tell ya, i have seen the scorpions 7 times. from coast to coast i may say *wink* they have been one of the best rock and roll concerts i have ever been to. i have seen a lot of groups but these guys will always leave you wanting more. i took my niece the last time they were in reno, nevada at the grand sierra resort. the next day she bought 3 of there c d's. i remember in tucson, az. i took my girl friend candy when they performed at the casino of the suns ampitheater . she had no clue who they were. after the concert she bought 3 of there c d's. and that proves my point. there performances are just that good. so yes i am glad i was raised on rock, in them big city nights, and they will always be no one like you guys. rock you like a hurricane.

  • Theres no one like the Scorps

by Wardman on 4/21/10Forum, Gibson. - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen every tour since 1984 (Love at first sting) and have never been disappointed. They always give you your money,s worth and even as they get older they still rock. I am sad to see this is their farewell tour but they have earned it. There new album is one of their best in years (Even though I loved Humanity) this one reminds me of vintage Scorps (Lovedrive, Animal Mag, and Blackout). I cant wait to see them in a great venue like Citizens Bank Arena in So Cal.

  • Scorpions the BEST!!!!!!

by DrClassicRock on 4/14/10Ridgefield or any other venue in Washington State - Ridgefield/SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

This band is a must see. I have seen them 13 times soon to be a 14th. One of the bthe est moments was when I won tickets to the Crazyworld tour using two pay phones and won two front row center tickets to this fantastic show. In Seattle, Wahington. On stage always being the most professional. Crazy but no to much hype. Like I said professional. Klaus, Rudolph, Mattias, Francis, and Herman, probably the best lineup but not to undermine the current lineup with James Kottak. Kottak a great drummer htwith lots of personality. If not known he was the former drummer from 80s band Skid Row. During the show after perfoming Tease Me Please Me, Rudolf threw his gutar pick out into the croud which I caught is one of my most prized rock possessions I have among all thirteem shirts from all of the shows I have seen this band. Since this is the last tour, It is a must see. You will not be disappointed but will be glad to see one of the best bands in rock and roll history!

  • Bring it on!
