SAY ANYTHING IN CONCERT:

Emo/pop punk band Say Anything have mastered the art of penning infectious, melodic pop songs without losing their edge, continually pushing their sound  forward by incorporating elements from genres as far-ranging as math rock and indie pop. The band expertly balances their high-octane material with frontman Max Bemis' softer side, treating fans at their live shows to the full gamut of sonic experience, from frenetic barn burners like "Alive With the Glory of Love" to introspective acoustic songs like "Belt." With their highly anticipated eighth album Hebrews due out in the summer of 2014, the band will hit the road on tour in support of the release.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Los Angeles in 2000, Say Anything self-released their first two EPs, Junior Varsity and In Your Dreams, as well as their debut full-length Baseball:  An Album by Sayanything. In 2004 they made their label debut with ...Is a Real Boy, released on Doghouse Records to a Top 10 spot on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart. Despite lineup changes and several hiatuses brought on by health issues suffered by frontman Max Bemis, the band's next three albums were all Top 40 hits on the Billboard 200, making them a festival staple and constant presence on the Vans Warped Tour. In support of the 2014 release of eighth album Hebrews, the band once again hits the road for another round of high-octane shows.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

" Say Anything put on an incredibly upbeat and amazing show. If you get the chance to see these guys live... it's a must!"

" From the moment they took the stage to the moment Max left, the venue was filled with energy. It was probably one of the best concert experiences I have ever had."

" Say Anything was, of course, spectacular. It was super exciting to hear them play so many of their older songs that I never thought I'd get to hear live. Overall, great show!"

say anything always puts on an unforgettable show

by loveSayAnything on 10/31/09House of Blues Boston - Boston

Say Anything is one of the best live performances around. Max Bemis works the crowd and loves his fans. Everyone is always singing along. If it wasn't on the night before Halloween it would have been a lot more relaxed. Unfortunately a lot of people were drunk and just hitting and elbowing the whole time. Usually during a Say Anything show, all the fans sing and dance together in the crowd and go nuts at the same. No matter the situation, Say Anything always puts on an amazing show and I wouldn't miss one for the world.

Moving mountains was the first band to play on stage and i thought they were pretty good, although it seemed more instrumental than vocals to there songs. The next band, who's name i dont even remember was mediocre and didnt intrest me much. Next band was Eisle, in which max bemis's wife plays. I thought they played pretty well, although they were very shy when communicating with the fans. Lastly was, say anything. I hadnt seen them live before but now that i have i would deffinetly go see them again. They played a set list over an hour long and interacted a lot with the fans. The songs sounded even better than live and max bemis continually kept his fans entertained with his performance. I would certainly recommend that anyone who likes "say anything", should deffinetly go see them. It was the best concert i have been to so far!

    Say Anything... wow.

by lovedthemforyears on 10/31/09House of Blues Boston - Boston

The Say Anything concert was fantastic. I only had one problem with the show, and that was this: the opening act, which consisted of three mediocre bands, was two hours long. People were getting bored and getting impatient. Just because you're Max Bemis's wife doesn't mean you get an hour to perform by yourself. But then, the second Say Anything came out, the mood, atmosphere, and overall dynamic of the entire venue did a complete 180. There was a rush toward the stage, and from there on in, it was fantastic. Max Bemis kept the crowd alive and more than energized the entire time. I had chills.

    Best Show Ever

by notawanker on 10/31/09House of Blues Boston - Boston

Hands down the best show i've ever been to. Moving Mountains and Moneen rocked the House of Blues crowd with great energy and surfing among us, Eisley kept us intrigued and wanting more before bringing out Say Anything. Max Bemis and his high fueled, neurotic antics on stage just makes every fan feel like they're on the stage with them. They played classic songs from theyre earlier albums keeping true fans happy, as well as belting out a few off their new self-titled album.

    wasn't there for say anything

by Poohzini on 10/29/09The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Never heard of Moving Mountains before but they were good they only played for 20 min at the most but that definitely got me interested in them they would get a 3.5/5. next was Eisley which is why I went to the concert. I was under the impression that they would go 3rd and would probably play for at least 45 min to an hour. they only played for 30 min which just bummed me out. the good news is that they did play some new stuff that sounded great. I’ve seen them before and they have rocked but last night wasn't that great, the crowed wasn't into them at all and like I said it was a short set. they would also get a 3.5/5. next was Moneen another band I never heard of but man they were fantastic they played for about 50 min, got the crowed into it and put so much passion into it that I would love to see them many more times 5/5. now Say Anything came on and I’ve heard of them before but didn't really place them till the first song they played which is the call you on the phone song. man I wish I had known about them because we would have left after Moneen. we stayed for about 45 min to give them a chance but could not get into their music at all. of corse most of the people were there for them and the crowed really was getting into it. I guess if you went there for them it would have been better but for me and my friend 3/5 tops. I would have rather had all the other bands play for twice the length and not listen to say anything but that’s just me because im not a fan.

    Unforgettable show from Say Anything

    by Mcrfan44 on 10/28/09Beachland Ballroom - Cleveland

Amazing show at the Beachland Ballroom. The venue was cramped, and it didn't have the best sound, but that didn't stop Say Anything from completely amazing the crowd. The show was great and full of energy. Every member of the band was nice and talked to the crowd and Max had a pretty great sense of humor. One thing you have to worry about bands is their ego getting in the way, but not with Say Anything. They were extremely nice and talked to the crowd like they were equals, not below them. The one complaint I have is that they downright refused to play any songs before ...Is A Real Boy, so no songs from Baseball or Menorah/Majora. Even when the crowd was begging for them to play some old songs, they refused. Me and my girlfriends "song" is Shameless of the album Baseball, so it was a bit of a disappointment, but it was a small one. I would absolutely see Say Anything again, and I most definitely will. If you get a chance to see these guys, do it!

    Say Anything was AMAZING

    by markylynn on 10/27/09Clutch Cargo's - Pontiac

Clutch Cargo's is a great place for a concert only made better by the fact that Say Anything is an amazing band. The set list was awesome as well, personally I would have removed two songs but i'm sure for this statement i would get a resounding boo. Everyone else seemed to love all of it. Max's stage presents is phenomenal the way he gets an audience involved is an art. Truly great, the best concert I have ever been to I would definitely recommend this show to anyone who has a decent taste in music.

    Say anything was awesome!

    by SMB88 on 10/26/09Clutch Cargo's - Pontiac

The bands were all awesome especially Say Anything. Tons of energy and a great performance. The only thing I have to complain about was the sound guys at Clutch Cargos. They didn't seem to be able to work their sound board and there was tons of feedback for all of the bands. They didn't have Max's microphone turned on for the entire first song and after that his microphone was low.

    Say Anything was AMAZING!

    by ErickaH on 10/26/09Clutch Cargo's - Pontiac

I haven't ever been to a better concert. I was laughing and smiling the whole time and was sorely depressed when the concert had to end! If Say Anything ever comes back to Michigan, I can promise that I'll be there. Can't wait for the new cd!

Best show i've ever been to!! so far...

by BrandoBlaze on 10/25/09Vic Theatre - Chicago

out of all the shows i've ever been to, this is by far the greatest. i've been to a lot of shows. ranging from huge arena shows(no doubt, blink 182, warped tours) to smaller much more personal venues(slightly stoopid at the metro, flogging molly at the Riv and lucky boys confusion at the metro.) this being my first trip to the vic i was very excited because I love smaller venues and this was the best one ive been to, very clean and fairly easy to move through. but the best part was all of the acts this show had!!! ok, there were 3 bands before SA, moving mountains, which was amazing, great way to start off the night. then moneen came up, and played an amazing acoustic set which was a very special event. Then Eisley came on, and they were killing it, then on their first to last song, MAX came on and played a song he wrote with his wife(member of the band) then Say anything began. one word, OUTSTANDNG!!!!! words cannot even describe it.

Good but could have been louder

    by d0d0b0red on 10/24/09Vic Theatre - Chicago

The opening bands were pretty mellow i thought, and the sound was really good. When Say anything went on it seems like it wasn't as loud as the opening bands. The crowd was very good, new every lyric and every song played. I would see them again for sure.

    1st S.A. experience

by NathanT on 10/24/09Vic Theatre - Chicago

The opening bands were so so, but Say Anything's performance made this show one of the best in recent memory. Which is saying a lot because I go to shows all the time. Say Anything played a variety of material from almost all of their albums (of course other than baseball). The new songs they played were great and well accepted by the crowd. The band played with lots of energy and offered some funny witty banter as well. After finishing their main set, the crowd screamed for more. It was the loudest screams I've ever heard in a venue. The screams for an encore were louder and more piercing than the music itself. Then Max cam back, played a touching acoustic song for his wife and then the band closed with the perfect song, Admit It! It was perfect. I left the show completely soaked in my and other peoples sweat.
