Savion Glover's Sole Sanctuary Tickets

His dancing is out of this world. Never have seen anything like it. His partner was also nothing short of amazing. I was there to see his dancing, so I really have no complaint. But I believe his "people" or his "production company" could put together a better "show". I am all for low tech and let the dancing speak for itself......but just a little more effort would give the fan everything they seek. I would have loved to hear Savion Glover speak to us...about his dancing, about his mentors, about these amazing men that came before him. What did he learn from these men? What did they pass on to him? I could go on, but my point is, I would have loved seeing or hearing a little more than just his dancing.

Respectfully, as much as I love the art form, Mr. Glover could have done so much more with his extraordinary talent. There seemed to be too much left to the imagination, thus misunderstood. Perhaps for those who are learned tap dancers, this was special, but for those of us who were looking forward to being blown away, it was a great disappointment. Sorry...maybe next time.

Savion Glover and Marshall Davis, Jr., danced almost non-stop for over 90 minutes in a performance that will be in my memory for years. They gave of themselves, showing us a variety of hoofing that has grown from the sounds of the city - rhythm from everywhere. Even the stage seemed to be smoking!
