SASHEER ZAMATA LIVE:
Stand-up comedian Sasheer Zamata made national headlines with the 2014 announcement that she would become Saturday Night Live's first female African-American cast member in six years. The hilarious comic had been putting fans in stitches for years and it made perfect sense why SNL tapped the phenom to join their cast: she brings an off-the-cuff style of storytelling that instantly upped the humor level in the show's writing room. During her gut-busting sets at comedy clubs throughout the country, Zamata spins humorous yarns about navigating awkward dates that just won't end and what it was like to introduce her brother to her new SNL bosses. She also finds a unique way of discussing race, examining everything from her white step-mother's unintentional verbal slip-ups to outlandish Home Depot commercials on "urban" radio stations. Sasheer Zamata always gives fans a unique, witty, and hilarious experience that will leave them rolling in the aisles.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Sasheer Zamata first fell in love with comedy in high school, and her passion for making people laugh eventually led her to found the long-form improv group Amuse Bouche while she was attending the University of Virginia. After graduating she moved to New York to train at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, where she soon became a regular performer. While running a successful YouTube channel (where she launched notable impressions of Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, and Tyra Banks, among others), she also landed guest roles on Inside Amy Schumer and Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. Zamata was then selected as a featured cast member on NBC's long-running sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, making her debut in 2015 before becoming a repertory player the following season. The sky seems to be the limit for Sasheer Zamata, and fans can't wait to see what's next from this rising stand-up comedian and actress.

While I was looking forward to seeing this SNL alum, I couldn’t have been more disappointed. I felt like I was at a pod cast or political speech. It was a lecture and not a funny one. I wasted my time and I’m really bummed. I hate leaving bad reviews but I need say this, warn people-she’s just not enjoyable.
Sasheer is brilliant and courageous. I brought my adult children and husband and we all loved her show.
Sasheer did not disappoint, very very funny & engaging with the audience. Cobb's has always been one of my favorite places to see a comedy show - the staff is super efficient & knowledgable, drinks are solid & seating is great.
I really would like to say I enjoyed Sasheer Zamata in San Francisco on Friday night, but the show was really terrible. The two opening acts were more enjoyable. The Punch Line Comedy Club was great...will definitely go back to see another performer.
Sasheer & her openers we all very funny and a pleasure to watch :) !
All acts were hilarious! My favorite, beside the sheer presence of Sasheer's presence, was her explaining the origin of her name.
