With her captivating voice and richly detailed songwriting, Sarah Jarosz has emerged as one of the most compelling musicians of her generation. A four-time Grammy Award-winner and ten-time nominee at the age of 30, the Texas native started singing as a young girl and became an accomplished multi-instrumentalist by her early teens. After releasing her full-length debut Song Up in Her Head at 18-years-old, she went on to deliver such critically lauded albums as Follow Me Down, Build Me Up From Bones, and Undercurrent, in addition to joining forces with Sara Watkins and Aoife ODonovan to form the acclaimed folk trio Im With Her.
Sarah and her band were great. Highly recommend going to see them
I have seen Sarah many times over the last fourteen years: solo, with an accompanist, in I'm with Her, with Milk Carton Kids, with Live From Here, and with Punch Brothers. She is my favorite female singer/songwriter and she amazingly continues to get better every time I see her. The Bowery Ballroom show was special because it marked her return performance in NYC after unexpectedly moving to Nashville at the onset of the Pandemic. Her performance reminded me of Dylan going "electric"at Newport. However, there were only cheers from this crowd. The show was both exciting and mesmerizing. Her set began with the electric Jealous Moon and I am sure surprised many in the crowd whom had not yet heard her new album Polaroid Lovers. Electric lead guitar and full drum set is not associated with Sarah, but here she was rocking out on Jealous Moon. It was fantastic and Sarah embraced the crowd's enthusiastic reception. The next three songs were also from the new album and included the beautiful and introspective Columbus and 89th with Sarah reminiscing about her years living on New York's upper west side. She then played some of her older catalogue including a riveting solo version of Jacqueline. Towards the end or main set, Sarah returned to rocking versions of Take the High Road and one of my new favorites, Runaway Train. I would not be surprised to hear it on Outlaw Country in the near future. The encore included Ring Them Bells and Polaroid Lovers final song Mescal and Lime inspired by Sarah's time in Mexico. In conclusion, if you ever have a chance to see Sarah Jarosz for the first time it could be a life changing event.
Very professional set. Lots of favorite songs with new pieces mixed in. I highly recommend sarah and her band
the band, the stand-up bass, the vocals... all spot on. we were blown away by the talent. The venue was in beautiful downtown Tucson. the history and atmosphere were wonderful. I would recommend better seating.
We saw Sarah Jarosz in a small theater so it was an intimate show. She is one of only two singers I have seen (out of many) who sounds better live than when recorded. Her voice and presence are phenomenal and it goes without saying that we love her songs, too. The entire band seemed to enjoy performing, but especially Sarah. My first concert was in 1968 so I have seen many, many bands and Sarah Jarosz is one of the best. Go see her - you will love it!
We loved our evening with Sarah Jarosz and the Dead Tongues! The music was wonderful, the crowd was great, and the venue was perfect. Sarah played a great combo of her new and some older songs plus a couple of lovely covers. She and the band had great chemistry and great energy. This is third time we’ve seen Sarah live in concert and she just keeps getting better!
This was one of the best concerts I have seen in a longtime. Sarah is very talented. She is a fantastic singer and her guitar and mandolin playing was outstanding too. She has a good personality and her song writing is fantastic. I really enjoyed this show. Go see her. You will not be disappointed!!
Bijou theater was quaint with great acoustics. Ryan was the opening act for Sarah and was great.
Sarah has a beautiful voice and her set was very relaxing, so much so that I had trouble staying awake. This is not a negative review, it was a lovely show. Very relaxing.
This show was wonderful from start to finish. The opening act, The Dead Tongues, was so good. He's very talented. Sarah Jarosz and her band were perfection. She played her whole album, The World on the Ground, and several other favorite songs. So much talent! She had a sing-along to a couple of songs which was a lot of fun. Sarah was so pleasant and expressed her gratitude to be performing and we were all so grateful to hear her! I hope to see her again soon.
Always love going to the Bijou. Was an extra special night as Sarah Jarosz kicked off her new tour. Great music, great venue, great night.
Absolutely fabulous!! I was not very familiar with Sarah before, but I am a fan now. She put on a great show and the talent all the musicians was incredible. Bravo! I might try to catch show in Nashville in November.
Great show....beautiful harmonizing!! First time I have seen them, but won't be the last!
Beautiful venue with incredible harmony!!!! Would return to enjoy both the artist and the venue.
Andrew Combs has the voice of an angel. He is such a talent, it is amazing he is not playing for hundreds of thousands of people. The Bijou Theatre is the perfect size, not too big or too small and every seat is a great seat!
What an amazing show. I took my 14 year old daughter and her guitar teacher to see this and we were all blown away. They didn’t miss a note or a chord. They were perfect. I only wish my daughter could have met them. We enjoyed Andrew Combs as well.
Sarah Jarosz was amazing - very tight musically and with wonderfully moving lyrics. While I expected her to be great, the virtuosity of her playing multiple instruments, and ability to feature her band was unexpected. Also, the opening act, Brother Brothers were funny and talented.
Third time seeing Sarah in concert, she was great ! Her band just the bass and guitar were Great!!
Sooo great! I will totally go see Sarah again and her opening group the brother brothers! Absolutely fantastic !!!!!
Wow we were so lucky to have Sarah Jarosz in Santa Fe last weekend. She is such an incredible instumentalist plus her vocals are so special. The Brother Brothers opened for her and were quite talented and charming. Will go see them again if they are near by. Sarah Jarosz we'd go far and wide to hear her!!!! Thanks for coming to Santa Fe PLEASE come back soon!!!
