San Diego Wave Fútbol Club at Snapdragon Stadium

San Diego Wave Fútbol Club enters its second season as a club after historic success in 2022 as the 12th and newest member of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The club's vision is to be a force for good through the game of football and is led by President Jill Ellis, former head coach of the US Women's National Team (USWNT) and two-time World Cup champion. Together with Head Coach Casey Stoney, the club is bringing the highest level of world-class, professional soccer to San Diego. USWNT standouts Alex Morgan and Abby Dahlkemper were two of the first players signed to the club, which consists of athletes representing five international soccer federations, including the US, Canada, Sweden, England and Australia.

The new Snapdragon stadium serves as Wave FC's permanent home, where San Diego broke the record for both the NWSL Playoff attendance record and the NWSL regular-season record, with 26,215 and 32,000 fans. Wave FC also made history in 2022 as the first expansion team to make the playoffs before advancing to the NWSL Semi-Final.

    Great atmosphere!

by Sharon on 11/8/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Best fan experience I have had at a game. Parking was easy, merch was reasonably priced, lots of food options in stadium, pregame presentation was entertaining. View was great from my seats as well!

    Easy Ticket

by Ed on 11/8/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Really good facility/venue once inside; downhill after that. The only thing worse than the traffic control outside the stadium was the great lack of traffic personnel inside the parking lot. Then there was the part of the lot lacking a great deal of paving. Maybe this is the City and University's way of pushing for public transit use. Almost forgot - The fish taco truck inside had a truly quality product.

    Wave Semi final

by BonT on 11/8/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Wish the Wave could have won!! The navy seals were awesome!! The stadium has so much to offer with food, seating and activities for kids. The Star Spangled Banner was incredible as well. She has an amazing voice. We will be back!!

Game is great, logistics could be better

by Eric on 11/8/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Love going to Wave games but two main complaints: -we had supporters/SRO tickets and got there before kickoff but were unable to find spots in there. IMO needs better entry control. -every time we have uber'd from this stadium has been an absolute mess. Insane the traffic is this bad when there used to be a stadium twice the size here. Needs major fixing, not worth it to stand around for an hour getting every uber/lyft cancelled bc they don't want to wait in a half hour line, and I don't blame them

Team is great, food situation is terrible

by WaveFan on 10/20/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

This team is so fun to watch and Snapdragon is a beautiful stadium with great pitch views. I have been to two games now and both involved 30 minute food lines. Since you can’t bring in your own food, you are stuck. If you have kids or grandkids with you it is challenging. Also, both games had promoted “give always” so we got there an hour in advance to get the item only to see they were already out. Needless to say the grandchild was pretty disappointed. If the Wave wants to be family friendly and inclusive it needs to fix the food situation (let us bring in our own or open more stations) and expand the giveaways like they do at Petco park. Otherwise I may return to watch a match but certainly won’t bring the grandkids.

    SD Wave Rocks!

by Ernie on 10/19/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

This was a very enjoyable event. The SD Wave team played well and provided lots of exciting action. The venue clean and organized well, with lots of options to purchase food and drinks. Although, food is not cheap. The venue does lack shade for day games and does get hot! It would be nice if they could add retractable shading of some kind for day events. There are plenty of restrooms which are maintained well. It is recommended to pre-purchase parking and arrive early. Download parking and event tickets to your mobile device prior to arriving at the event, to save time and reduce stress. Bring a hat and sunscreen to any day events. It can be challenging to get to seats if you have any physical impairment or disability. I am not aware of any elevators, and there are lots of stairs. We enjoyed our time at the event and were able to exit easily.

    Great family outing

by Lanpad on 10/19/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Great time out with the family. The stadium has no bad seats, the vibe is festive and fun, and the food choices are great. The team is fun to watch! Areas that need improvement: a.) parking on dirt is no fun, b.) the lines for concessions are so long, c.) don't advertise giveaways and then not have enough to give to the crowd that shows up

    Fun and inclusive for all

by ar92109 on 10/19/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

You don't have to be a soccer nerd to respect these women. Fun and the away team always has good players to watch too.

    Dream Come True!!

by Rodriguez Fambam on 10/19/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

I was able to fulfill my son and daughter’s dream! A “Dream Come True” as they labeled it. Daughter cried when she entered the stadium. Son ran wild and non-stop dancing and cheering for the waves (kids are 10 & 5). I now surprised them with the Semifinal tickets. They both cried of Happiness…. THANK YOU SAN DIEGO WAVES FOR PUTTING A SMILE ON MY KIDS FACE!!

    A nice exciting experience

by Steve on 9/19/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Having gone to both Aztec games and now a Wave game I prefer the Wave crowd. The fans were there to see a soccer match. The crowd at the Aztec games is split between football ffans there to see a game (me) and the people who are there to be "seen"and could not care less about the game. All of the employees we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that the concession stands seemed to be under supplied. It took a while to get my hot dog and I couldn't find any peanuts. What's a stadium experience without peanuts??? There were 3 of us at the game and we all would do it again.

    Parking is outrageous

    by Upset Driver on 9/16/23

I had a ticket to the game. Got to the parking. Saw it was $40. Turned around and went home. I'm not coming back.

    Expensive Parking

by JA on 9/6/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

The game vs Houston Dash was good but not great, San Diego Wave wasted a lot of opportunities & I think parking was too expensive.
