    Culture & Cocktails

by Treblemaker on 10/30/09San Diego Museum of Art - San Diego

This event was a disappointment. There was one vodka cocktail per person, the music was not Russian, just usual noise, there was no tour of the Russian Exhibit held during the event, nor any kind of presentation regarding the Russian theme. It was just a gathering of people talking and drinking and standing around the rotunda. I would not attend an event like this again.

    Culture and cocktails rocked

by Xtina22 on 8/14/09San Diego Museum of Art - San Diego

Great time at Culture and Cocktails. It wasnt over croweded this time, exhibit was awesome, the DJ rocked and the free cocktail was great. Just wish it was unlimited free cocktails like it used to be instead of the one drink ticket thing they are giving out.

    Culture & Cocktails

by Rudi3 on 8/14/09San Diego Museum of Art - San Diego

The culture part of the event was great, the artist Richard Avedon had some really cool images on display. The dj/music was also a great touch. The cocktails part of the event was a bit of a downer. Previous events had open bar and this one was limited to a one drink coupon.

    Avedon

by Perot on 8/14/09San Diego Museum of Art - San Diego

Bringing a young crowd to the museum was good. I'm not sure how many saw the Avedon show as they seemed to spend most of their time looking at each other which is alright. The show was superb. Avedon let his subjects skewer themselves. One wonders how Nureyev got off the ground with that load he carried. The music, as usual, was too loud, and the free drink (vodka and black cherry soda) terrible.

    Flowers After Hours was powerful

by Vitality on 7/15/09San Diego Museum of Art - San Diego

SDMA Culture and Cocktails June 2009 Flowers After Hours event was a powerful and beautiful statement of and by the community and the value of arts in San Diego. Provided the opportunity to "experience" amongst friends and neighbors the freshness of flowers with the history of art, SDMA once again invited its guests to appreciate vitality and life that surrounds us. Thank you for the chance to appreciate our potential.

    unique event

by michellesandiego on 7/14/09San Diego Museum of Art - San Diego

This is an amazing event even for those that know little about art (like me!). It was fascinating to see all of the interpretations of the art done as floral pieces. The food, music, and atmosphere was also enjoyable. Getting food and drink was a little chaotic, but was worth the wait. The extra touches of mask-making and hair design also added to the fun. I'll definitely attend this event again!

Art Alive: Culture & Cocktails: Flowers After Hour

by Lolliela on 7/14/09San Diego Museum of Art - San Diego

This event was a delight! There was a fantasy effect as we walked in the door with music playing, a fun lighting effect and bubbles! The smell of the flowers was in the air and champagne was flowing. Everyone seemed to be having such a good time! I was intrigued by the idea of challenging the floral arrangers with a masterpiece and wasn't sure what to expect: would it be like "seed art" mosaics only with flowers? To answer that question: NO! It is much more creative than that! It's also fun to see the museum in another way: afterhours, full of festive people and EATING tasty food in the main areas!) I'd definitely go again! :)

    Judy Chicago

by Soarwithme on 7/13/09San Diego Museum of Art - San Diego

Setting for pre event cocktail party fabulous; she was spectacular, her book was available and there was a book signing opportunity. For the price, this was an absolutely wonderful evening.
