San Antonio Spurs History
The story of the San Antonio Spurs began in the summer of 1973, when a group of local investors leased the Dallas Chaparrals and brought professional basketball to San Antonio. Midway through that first season, the group purchased the team outright, planting the roots of what would become one of the NBA’s most respected franchises.
The Spurs spent their first three seasons in the ABA before joining the NBA in 1976, alongside the Nets, Nuggets, and Pacers. Since entering the league, San Antonio has become a model of sustained success, boasting the second-highest winning percentage (.595) among all NBA teams. Over the decades, the Spurs have captured five NBA championships and 22 division titles.
The team has honored its legends by retiring 10 jersey numbers, including Hall of Famers George "Iceman" Gervin, David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker—all of whom helped define generations of Spurs basketball.
The 2025–26 season marks a significant moment in Spurs history. After 29 seasons as head coach, Hall of Famer Gregg Popovich has transitioned into the role of President of Basketball Operations. Stepping into the head coaching role is Mitch Johnson, officially named the 19th head coach in franchise history after serving as acting head coach for the majority of last season.
On the court the Silver and Black are led by NBA All-Stars Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox. They are joined by Spurs veterans Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell and Jeremy Sochan while Stephon Castle, the NBA’s 2025 Rookie of the Year, returns for his second season. This summer the Spurs added veteran leadership with the additions of Luke Kornet and Kelly Olynyk. The 2025 NBA Draft brought more young talent to San Antonio, including No. 2 overall pick Dylan Harper and No. 14 pick Carter Bryant.

Great game - lots of fun. The intro was better than previous years - really FIRED us up.
GReat game, people are great at the event. Fun time had by all
Loved being so close to the play; location though was not the best though due to camera men in the way at times, refs blocking play...etc.
The game was amazing - half time entertainment was great.
This game was against a former contender in the west and proved that the Spurs deserve to be ranked amongst this year's power houses.
Spurs are awesome above all, the seats and price were not bad at all, my first pro event ever and I do not make alot of money so it was great! The seats way up in the at&t center arent bad at all, HIGHLY RECOMMEND for lower income ppl LIKE myself!
I had a great time and the seats were a great deal!! I would definitely go back again for another game.
The price was good. I got the tickets to view the pre-season game because it was not telivised. The guests I took were dissipointed because it was even hard to see the players on the jumbotron. I knew what to epect but my guests didn't.
We had an awesome time.........glad Spurs won and that Lebron & Shaq played
This was a great opportunity to take the whole family!! I purchased the preseason tickets in the summer for $5.00 to go see the Spurs vrs Cleveland. They were a bit to high but for a family of 5 this was definitely affordable and fun!
I love NBA games and i love the san antonio spurs but this is about the 5th time i have driven to san antonio(dont live in san antonio)or flown there, got expensive tickets adn EVERY time my favorite player Manu Ginobili doesnt play. Theres no point . thats why i spoend hundreds of dollars every time just to get up close to Manu. i am very disappointed. Not in tickermaster, but in Manu.
All i've been hearing is how bad the pre-season is for the Spurs but after seeing last night's game live,I beg to differ, last night the Spurs with their new players were Awesome! Loved and I enjoyed
Best $5 tickets I've ever had...the seats were of the high altitude type but even the cheap seats at the AT&T Center are good. Much better than the Alamodome. Got to see Shaq, La Bron, Tony Parker and Tim Duncan all for a $5 promo code ticket...can't beat that!
I would recommen this event for anyone with underage children who wants to have a great time. I took my 2 and 6 year old to the game and it was so easy going and we all had a great time.
I liked my tickets that I got for 5.00 I purchased early and they were sent right out with no problems the seats were great also.
Maybe they didn't win, but the atmosphere was great! Being around similar fans such as myself always makes for a great home game, whether the Spurs win or lose. GO SPURS GO!
Spurs are awesome - wish they would have won though. It was a great experience for all of us.
The game was great can't wait for opening night!!!!!!!!!!!
The seats were a bit higher than I like, but, at least I saw the Spurs! Parking was great, first class treatment, great communication.
