About

Sampha Sisay, a South London vocalist and producer, has gripped audiences for over a decade. Known for his stirring, delicate falsetto, he’s collaborated with the likes of Drake, Solange, Jessie Ware and FKA twigs since breaking through in the early 2010s. While Sampha’s 2013 EP, Dual, showcased his unique and soulful perspective on R&B and pop, his 2017 debut album Process fully established him as a solo creative force within his own lane — it earned him the UK’s coveted Mercury Prize for Album of the Year. Sampha largely retreated from the spotlight over the next six years, but continued to contribute as a musician and songwriter for artists such as David Byrne, Alicia Keys and Stormzy. Sampha’s work on Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers (2022) led to his first Grammy nomination for Album of the Year, as well as his highest-charting U.S. single with “Father Time,” which reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2023, he made his celebrated return as a solo artist behind the single “Spirit 2.0,” with his highly-anticipated second album to follow.

    Musicianship at its finest!

by Erin L. on 10/31/23Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

This concert is by far one of the best live performances I’ve witnessed. Sampha consistently delivered alongside fellow musicians throughout the night. Special shout-out to Rosetta for absolutely killing it and everyone else as well. It’s the kind of experience that inspires you to do better and be better at whatever your passion is. As much as I would love to put to words what this concert meant to me, there are none that would accurately convey my feelings about this. I sincerely hope anyone who is interested has the opportunity to hear any of these performers live.

    BEST concert I've been to

by Colt on 10/29/23Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

Sampha crushed it. He brought it all to the table and left no crumbs. Between the guests Kelsey Lu and Kamasi Washington and his incredible band the performance was insanely good. Sampha sounds even better than his records and he performs in such a way that the listener is part of the performance. I could've easily just laid down, closed my eyes, and let the music take me away. There was a good mix of hits from his 2017 debut album Process and his brand new 2023 album Lahai. Even though he didn't play a few songs I love (Incomplete Kisses and Treasure) he still captured me in the sounds of the songs he did play. I was forced to forgive his late start because the performance was so good. So, while I arrived at 7 and he didnt start until around 9 the anticipation that had built up was worthy of his greatness. I was a little disappointed with some of my fellow concert goers because they failed to pick up their drinks and cans at the end, but what can you do.

    Sampha in the Round

by Shae on 10/28/23Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

First experience at this venue and the perfect artist to see there! Sampha was in the center or ‘The Round’ of the Palladium and the acoustics were amazing. It doesn’t hurt that Sampha’s voice sounds just like the album but his band also shined with great solo moments. Great experience!

    Could have been better

by Shonnie on 10/28/23Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

The sound in ADA section was not great. I could barely hear the music over people I’m the back talking and the mic was not loud enough. I couldn’t understand what Sampha was saying.

    Full music experience

Sampha sounded great (just like his albums). The band with the instruments and background vocals was so captivating. Great show! I would love to see him again.

    Great but short of Amazing

by SonicSage on 10/28/23Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

I really enjoyed the concert for the musicianship, guest artist, and performer (Sampha). My feedback is towards the technical aspects of the performance. Sampha's microphone seemed to be be set rather low and deep in the mix, so there were times it was hard to hear & understand him (during speaking & signing). The other is that lighting was mundane considering the stage set up, my opinion (I know, I know), could have been more dynamic to draw us further in.

    Privileged people

by AnnoyedGuest on 10/28/23Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

Heard that the manager was there for the concert. They were so inconsiderate of others around them. They stood in front on the balcony when I spent a pretty penny to see Sampha. Absolutely not acceptable nor professional, especially if it was his team! Luckily we moved to another VIP table - Sampha and the crew did phenomenal.

    INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE

by Mortyvids on 10/28/23Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

The show started around 40 minutes after the original showtime, but it was so worth it. This was the one most beautiful experiences I have ever had. The instrumentation and the singing was incredibly beautiful. I can’t wait to see Sampha again live.
