Sam Smith has been captivating audiences with their unique high tenor since first appearing as the ebullient vocalist on Disclosure’s 2012 breakout single “Latch.” At only 22, the London-born singer instantly became one of the UK’s greatest pop exports after releasing their first album, In the Lonely Hour (2014), which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart and went on to achieve platinum certification five times over in the U.S. The album also earned Smith four Grammys, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year (for the Darkchild remix of “Stay with Me”), as well as Best New Artist. Smith then co-wrote and performed the opening theme “Writing’s on the Wall” for the 2015 James Bond film Spectre, which earned them an Academy Award. Smith’s 2017 sophomore album The Thrill of It All cemented their place at pop music’s forefront, opening atop the Billboard 200, while 2020’s Love Goes boasted collaborations with genre-leading contemporaries like Calvin Harris, Normani, Burna Boy and Demi Lovato. In 2023, Smith released their fourth full-length, Gloria, featuring the Grammy-winning Kim Petras duet, “Unholy,” which became the singer’s first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 — and the first song by an openly non-binary artist and transgender artist, respectively, to reach the chart’s top spot.

Breathtaking, amazing and beautiful

It was the most visually appealing concert and refreshing to see a true artist expressing themselves so freely. I will keep wishing for upgraded seats for us plus size peeps.
Extremely Disappointed
by SueM on 8/22/23Rating: 1 out of 5I purchased these tickets to take my daughter and granddaughter on a girls night. But after seeing reviews of shows in other cities, I decided to try to sell them. There was no way I want to support what he is promoting. I knew when I bought the tickets that he is gay, I don’t care about that, he is talented. However the extreme of his shows is not something I want to support. Or subject my family to. I posted them on several sites, but didn’t get one interested person. There were so many tickets for sale I’m guessing the venue was probably not even 2/3 full. I marked them down to below what I paid and still could not sell them. The disappointing thing is Sam Smith still got all his money. And doesn’t even know of people’s protests and loss of money. I truly hope Sam Smith can figure himself out. It’s a shame to have such talent and promote it that way.

Unexpectedly amazing

Let me tell you, that completely changed. Sam Smith and their entire dance/music crew were beyond amazing! I have seen a lot of concerts and this easily hits my top 3. So brilliant. My only regret is not having floor tickets. I cannot express enough how kind Sam is when chatting with the crowd, how beautiful their singing voice is, and how radiant their confidence comes across onstage. When I got home I immediately checked to see if they were going to be back in the area for a tour anytime soon. I knew they’d be good, but I didn’t expect them to be jaw-droppingly fantastic.

Disappointment

But obviously the star of the show, Sam Smith, was amazing. I loved all of the outfit changes & all of the energy they brought to the crowd. I’ve seen Sam Smith every time they come to Denver & I still am blown away by their performance!
