    SYMPHONIC TREAT FOR SALINA

by Yatzie on 5/4/16Stiefel Theatre - Salina

The Salina Symphony's 60th Anniversary celebration was a gift to the audience. And, what a gift it was. Absolutely heart-stirring and memorable. Thank you, Ken, and all the musicians.

Beast of a beginning, beauty of song.

by Begnog on 4/2/14Stiefel Theatre - Salina

The images projected on back screen were rather terrible and the beginning of the symphony was a melody of off key notes, fortunately Belle saved the day, and my ears by her absolutely incredible voice! My only regret and comment is why did they only have two showings?! I would have taken friends to another viewing, especially in hopes of getting to hear the Symphony on key.

    Good Entertainment

    by KansasFan888 on 4/2/14Stiefel Theatre - Salina

We enjoyed the show. However, my husband and I both felt it could have been done with a smaller orchestra. At times the music drowned out the singing of the actor/actresses. It was great music, just a little too loud at times. The Stiefel Theatre is such a beautiful venue to see this type of performance, but it was a little distracting having the orchestra on stage with the performers. It made it hard to "lose" yourself in the play. All in all it was a great performance, and we definately enyoyed it.

    Great Show!

This production was absolutely wonderful! My daughter and I loved it tremendously. The music was phenomenal and the acting was too. When Gaston lost his hair, he was professional and remained in character.

Beauty and the Beast was Fabulous!

by AHoffhines on 4/1/14Stiefel Theatre - Salina

The collaborative effort of the Salina Symphony, Community Theatre and Kansas Wesleyan Music Department resulted in a top-notch production comparable to larger city productions. Fantastic experience! Costumes were amazing! My only concern is the image on the back screen -- blurry -- may be intentional but I would have preferred visuals with more realism or in a different style. Symphony was wonderful! Staging was unique but made the symphony a fully integrated part of the experience. Bravo!

What a wonderful way to end the season!

by Zeleny on 5/3/11Stiefel Theatre - Salina

I have attended the Salina Symphone performances for years...beginning when they were held at the Fine Arts building at Marymount College. I have been away from Salina for 12 years and returned to hear Patrick Greene perform also Sunday. The Symphony has really blossomed these last 12 years. Their performance was first class! Salina needs to be reminded how lucky they are to have such talent and opportunity for the classics.
